Delicious Genuine Traditional Balsamic of Modena
To me this Malpighi 12 yr is a real treasure and a bargain to boot. It may not compare to older balsamics but it is not meant to. It is meant to have its own unique profile.I currently have four traditional balsamics: one Regio Emilio (20+ yrs), one Modena 25+ years, and two different Modena 12 years (including one of this particular (Malpighi). All are superb and all display different characteristics. Even though this is the least expensive one it has its own uniqueness. I like my Traditionals a bit on the sweet side for certain uses like light cheeses, vanilla ice cream etc, and a bit on the "darker", more acidicly sweet side for meats and stronger cheeses etc.To achieve Traditional status the vinegar inside that unique bottle will always be worthwhile. This is no exception!

Delicious
Delicious. My first try of the "real deal" balsamic, and it does not disappoint. It's very expensive for vinegar, and definitely a splurge/special occasion item.Would make a really nice gift.

Amazing Flavor
After watching a few food/travel shows I'd learned about balsamic vinegar and the differences in quality and taste. Although authentic is more expensive, I bought what I could afford and it was worth it. It is such a superior flavor to the stuff we buy in the supermarket, I have no regrets. This kit comes with some extras that were appreciated.

little too sweet for my taste
Bought this based on other's reviews - but I tried it on a nice caprese salad when I first got it - and I feel it imparted too much sweetness to the salad. Tried it again a few days later - got the same results. There IS a light vinegar taste at first (Which I like) but it gives way quickly to a sweeter aftertaste. I was hoping for a bit more acidity on the front end, and less sweetness. I don't think I'll get this one again.

Excellent 12 yr balsamic vinegar
After tasting balsamic vinegars in Italy, and learning about the production process used, we specifically wanted to find a good 12 year old product. This vinegar was just what we were hoping for, and is delicious. It's especially tasty on grilled vegetables. Beautiful packaging, as well.

Italy at home...
I’m sad I didn’t but this at a duty free shop in route back from Tuscany. They had a bigger bottle at Villa Tavernaccia where we stayed and it was spectacular. This bottle is much smaller but we’ve been using it judiciously since August and all I can say is it’s worth: Every. Single. Penny. Also, I tried finding it at HomeGoods and got the wrong one. Delicious...

The real deal.
Wonderful balsamic: thick and flavorful. A little goes a long way. A few drops on a piece of Parmiggiano Reggiano makes for a heavenly treat.

Not sure how old it is?
It looks authentic but a sticker on both bottles I bought like others indicated says it is 2 years old? Not sure why that is? Maybe the seller can explain?
