There are several items in this listing. I have the 3.1mil 110-yards / 6-rolls of tape.It’s really important to note that these rolls are 110-yards each. So often you’ll find tape at a lower price, but it’s only 55-yards per-roll, so you’re only getting half as much.I’ve used a lot of different tape in the past. This tape has a nice thickness, and it also sticks! It’s not uncommon for me to use tape that really doesn’t stick very well, especially to corrugated cardboard. I don’t have that problem with this tape.My only issue with this tape is the SMELL! It’s awful! Each time you use it, it really smells. . .and the smell lingers. I’m in a rush to get the boxes out, to get rid of the smell. If it were not for the awful smell, I would give this tape five-stars. I’ve never had tape smell so bad like this in my life.

The only problem I have with this tape is it has spoiled me, and I would never consider going back to the cheaper, thinner tape. Sure, it costs a bit more but it's worth it because:1. The longer 110 yard rolls means I spend less time changing out rolls (time is money, right?);2. The superior performance of this tape means I use less tape to get the job done because it sticks and stays in place;3. It doesn't tear or shred when working with it, yet cuts easily where it is suppose to when using a tape gun (having a more expensive, higher grade tape gun matters, folks! Regular cleaning of the cutting surface matters, too!); and4. It doesn't accidentally cling to itself like cheaper tapes which can result in wasted tape!I'll be honest and say when I initially purchased this tape, I had an Amazon coupon and purchased it from Amazon Warehouse deals where they deeply discount items that have damaged boxes, etc. At that time, I told myself this would be a one-time purchase, because budget minded me (yes, cheap, go ahead and say it!) couldn't imagine paying full price for this tape, even if it was 3.1 mil compared to my usual 2.9 milNow? I can't imagine doing without it because in the end, the ultimate value greatly exceeds the difference in cost, in addition to eliminating frustrations dealing with sub-standard lower mil tape. I see others mention a smell, and I do not notice this, myself, so either I've lost one of my 5 senses or others are spending way more time with their tape close to their nose than I do? :)

In shopping for packing or shipping tape in the stores it is difficult to determine the thickness of the tape. Going by descriptions like heavy duty doesn’t allow for comparisons. Looking at rolls of the same length can give a good idea of tape thickness when comparing the roll thickness. Having used Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape (clear) I was looking for a more affordable alternative. Scotch does not document their tape thickness but I used a digital caliper to measure a doubled over piece at 6mil (3mil each layer). So I knew I was looking for a tape with 2.6mil or greater and decided on the 3.1mil. My order arrived very quickly from Amazon. As soon as I peeled the end of the tape I could tell it was not as thick as the Scotch HD. I did the same measurement of a doubled over piece and it was 5.5mil or only 2.75mil thickness - not the 3.1mil advertised. For me it is fine as I have not found much for alternatives online for the price. I could pay 2 to 4 times the price for 3.0mil tape so I give it 3 stars. I also did an unscientific pull test, pulling on the tape to see if it would break. It stretched but didn’t break. The Scotch HD is tougher to pull and didn’t stretch as much if at all.As many have noted about the tape odor - it does have an odor that reminds me of something of citrus but not in a good lemony scent way with a cleaning product. The odor is not noticeable at a couple feet away nor did my family complain about it being in the house.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing. A lot of whining about the smell. It’s tape. It smells like tape. The price was OK and the shipping was fast. It smells like tape and is not overpowering so you don’t need a safe place after using this. It is not top quality though and I’ve noticed recently that the tape is not sticking as well as it should. I don’t know if this is due to humidity or what. Therefore, I am reading the quality is just OK. Maybe a step or two up from the dollar store tape, definitely not as good as the duck clear shipping tape. Since I do a lot of shipping I can’t afford top-quality so I will suck it up and keep on using this

We use alot of tape for our online business. After using a very well known name brand tape for a long time. We were looking for a cheaper alternative. After reading alot of reviews we purchased this tape. We are beyond impressed. Just simply switching to this tape will save us almost $800 a year. Where we used to have to use 3 times as much tape. This stuff sticks and is very strong. It has a smell of high quality tape.

I was delighted that the 3" tape we received (with "Southern Cal Closeouts" private labelled on the inside of the roll) was superior to the tape we purchased from another vendor on Amazon. I'll continue to order this tape for our shipping boxes for Carolina Pratt Unit Blocks, a small company manufacturing hard maple standard unit blocks. Our products are heavy, so having great quality tape for the Pratt Plus 100% recycled boxes we use helps our blocks arrive safely at their destination.

Heavy duty, sticks great. Reading the review's, a lot of complaints about the smell. I disagree. Smell is faint, smells like garlic IF you sniff. I don't know many people making a habit of sniffing tape rolls so irrelevant. Does it's job and holds great. Not much problem of it coming loose form box. I ship a lot, better than most brands I have purchased. Will be reordering soon.

This is undoubtedly the best tape I have ever used. Yes, it has the pvc smell when unrolling, but that goes away. This stuff sticks and is strong. I will not be buying the fancy and expensive Scotch or Duck tape any more. Get a good hand dispenser such as the Prosun model as you need a good cutter.
