The Power of Loss and Second Chances
I have Lost My Way is a book written about 3 characters, all so young in age that feel like there is nothing left in life after they suffer great loss in their personal life. Sometimes we can lose something, not because a person dies, but because of circumstances and this is the problem a lot of people in this world feel. This author has taken the opportunity to write this book and I personally feel like it was a gift for me to read it, and can be for others as well, no matter what age we may be. This book is listed as young adult but I think it has something to say to all of us, no one has gone through their lives without feeling losses, and the repercussions. This book tells the story of 3 people, Freya a young girl who has lost her voice while trying to put out her debut album; Harun who is gay and has lost his first boyfriend, and he comes from a background that is impossible to understand him; and Nathaniel who has lost his father and gone to New York City with his backpack, little money and no plans. This book takes place all in one day, however each character fills in what their life has been like and what it is now, and how they come together in the same place right at the same time, not because they know each other but because it is fate. After losing love, finding love and discovering who you are, all of them and being thrown together somehow, this is a story about finding someone besides yourself feeling the same way and having the ability to look past their own lives to help another. I gave this book 5***** stars and am so glad I read this book!

Still my favorite author!
Gayle Forman is my top author. The writing is so sleek and enthralling. Everytime i pick up her books, i cant put them down until i finish it. They're true page turnersThe character development makes me feel emotionally connected and like im living in the book. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into each character and their backgrounds. I truly liked how you know where they come from ethnically. Not many authors put in culuture and ethnicity into books. That helps make this book different than the others. It kind of opened my eyes that even in times of sadness, there are people who are right alongside you that you may not know theyre going through it too. Gayle Forman is one of my favorite authors because of this!!

You'll maybe find your way with this book?
I was interested in this book because of the location. I thought the cover art was beautiful and I thought that the author was amazing, so I thought, why not give this book a try? I have many different opinions on this book. First up, you should know that this is a book where you start knowing little about the characters and end up knowing the full story. This also has an open ending, meaning you assume/decide. This is a book where loads doesn't happen, but there is an emotional punch and things to think about. There really isn't a strong storyline, but I'd consider this a light read because you can read this and get an idea of the story, but I found the storyline sort of weak. I loved the idea of the three of them finding new lives and fresh starts and beginnings; and the book in a way was like poetry, very descriptive. I did enjoy this novel, and when I was reading, it was hard to put down, because of the writing style and the descriptive words. Overall, would I recommend this book? Yes, if you know that this book is meant for beauty; not for action and drama. Plus, this book has some paragraphs that could change your perspective on being lost. I have mixed feelings on this one. A little bit of wandering around and wasting time, but Gayle's writing style makes up for it.

Touching
What an incredible story!I’ve always enjoyed any book I’ve read by Gayle Forman. This one really surprised me. I felt very connected to each character and their plight. I enjoyed how the book was written from all 3 perspectives. It definitely gave me a chance to really get to know each of them. Of course, I’m hoping she might write another book because I always hope that when she gives us these beautiful endings that leave a character’s future to our imagination, she also decides to tell us where they are now. This was a diverse story that touched on topics of importance, cultural differences and what it’s like to be in the spotlight. I don’t want to give anything away. I highly recommend this contemporary YA fiction to any and everyone. I certainly feel like I was lost as well but I was found in these pages too.Enjoy and Happy Reading ♥️📚♥️
