Great spec, great laptop
I bought this at £499, in a few days the price has increased by £80! ( tariff knock on maybe). Even so this is an excellent spec for the price, super sharp oled screen, i5 processor, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd drive. I knew it was a bargain when I saw it for a local committee i am part of, and now kicking myself I didn’t buy one for myself as well. Out of the box it needed the usual time wasting windows updates so spent about an hour doing that, then discovered that the trackpad was not working. Did some online research and found it needed an Asus firmware update which fixed the problem. I still give it 5 stars because this was a steal at the price and out of the box updates are a necessity. The oled screen is just beautiful, its fast and im sure for the general day to day use it will receive it will be perfect. Not bought as a gaming machine so not sure of the graphics capabilities.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I purchased the ASUS Vivobook 15, and I’m extremely pleased with it! The design is sleek and lightweight, making it perfect for home, office, or university use. For a laptop in this price range, the performance is excellent: the Intel i3-1215U processor and 8GB of RAM provide great speed and smoothness for daily tasks like browsing, streaming, and working with Office applications. The 15.6" Full HD display is bright and clear, ideal for enjoying movies and shows in high definition. The keyboard is also comfortable and responsive, which is great for long typing sessions. With a generous 512GB SSD, I have more than enough storage space for all my files, and it ensures almost instant boot and load times. Finally, Windows 11 is intuitive and works seamlessly. For anyone looking for a reliable, high-performing laptop without breaking the bank, the ASUS Vivobook 15 is highly recommended!

Overall it's very good for the price.
So far so good. This review is for the Asus Vivobook15x1504VA (silver) with i5 processor and 16gb Ram. It's well built. Internal speakers are ok but sound is better through headphones or external speakers. It's fast enough for most everyday tasks - but I had to set to High Power Plan for it to be working at max CPU instead of the 'energy efficient' setting which it installs with. It comes with Windows 11 which I didn't want (because of some of its quirky features) but nevertheless it sets up easy enough and I'm now learning to live with those quirky features. Battery life seems pretty good. The reason for only 4 stars is that the viewing angle of the screen is quite limited so as to view with best brightness and contrast and I also wish that there was the ability to increase the contrast as there seems to be only the facility to adjust the brightness. I also wish it came with a backlit keyboard but finding a laptop with this spec and at this price with such a keyboard is impossible. The keyboard itself feels nice to type on and its nice to have the separate numeric keypad. All-in-all I like it and the price was right when I bought it (and even happier that I could spread the payments over five months, interest free, through Amazon.

Nice lightweight laptop with plenty of storage
Nice lightweight laptop. Speedy to boot, it has plenty of storage and a nice large screen. More than adequate for general day to day use at a very good price.

Perfect for School and Everyday Use!
I got the ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED for my school colleague, and he absolutely loves it! The 15.6" OLED screen is super vibrant, making it perfect for both schoolwork and watching movies. The performance is smooth, thanks to the Intel Core i5 processor and 16GB of RAM—no lag while juggling multiple tabs or apps. The webcam shield and microphone controls are great for privacy during online classes. Plus, it’s built with ASUS Antimicrobial Guard, which is reassuring in today’s world. It’s lightweight, portable, and has all the connectivity options you need. The durability and eco-friendly design are just the cherry on top. It’s perfect for both work and play!

*****NIGHTMARE! DO NOT BUY!!!!*****
I bought this in September 2024 as a birthday present to myself. My old Fujitsu laptop was well overdue an upgrade.Initially it looked like a fantastic spec for the price. Unfortunately looks can be deceiving.Right from the beginning, the touchpad has been temperamental, but as I always use a USB mouse, I’m not sure just HOW temperamental. I ordered an Asus USB mouse to use with the laptop. It worked fine initially. Then it didn’t. The cursor would just stay in the same place, no matter what. I assumed batteries? So put new in. Nope. Tried different USB ports, checked drivers etc. Made sure all updates were done. It worked for a few weeks if that. On and off. No apparent reason as to why. Then at the beginning of April it didn’t work again. Then the touchpad stopped working. Then the keyboard stopped working!!!!I contacted Amazon who were very helpful. They directed me to Asus but told me to come back to them if I didn’t get a satisfactory result.Asus told me to try the usual fixes. Updates. Etc etc. My husband knows a lot more about computers than I do so he’d already tried everything anyway.Asus arranged for it to be sent to one of their repair centres to be repaired. It was collected the next day by DPD. Apparently they have changed their repair contract and have a backlog of at least one month! I was told by phone that my “option” was to get the laptop back and still use it, then send it for repair when they’ve caught up!!!! I explained that it’s not useable so I left it with them. I’m extremely frustrated at having no working laptop. I paid close to £500 and can’t afford to buy another!I’ve since tried to contact Asus both by phone and by email. Not an easy task as I find their website less than helpful! They still can’t give me a time estimate. No offer of a solution other than to get it returned.I contacted Amazon this morning after the email reply I’d had from Asus. They said that if I get the laptop back and return it to them, they will give me a full refund. So I’ve messaged Asus to request it back.I will never buy another Asus again!
