The only Thermos Kettle out there!
I bought my first one 6 years ago and it has been working great until now.I only bought another one recently, because the plastic cover at the top started cracking/leeching into the water and I did not want to risk drinking that. Other than that, it was still boiling water brilliantly.6 years is a lot for a kettle life span in my book so when the time came, I wanted to replace it with another "thermos" kettle. It seems the manufacturer has not improved/upgraded this model and there is no competition for it - so I bought another one!I still love it as I did the original. The best part is that it keeps the water at 70-80 degrees after 2, even 3 hours. It means I heat the water less during the day so in theory, I should be saving on electricity a small bit over the year.Number two factor is I can set the water temperature to whatever level I like - 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 degrees! This is brilliant for all tea and herb drinkers alike! White tea, Green tea and Black tea need different temperatures to extract the flavour and have a great taste. The only drawbacks are that it is quite heavy (insulated, metal, thermos like kettle) and there is now visible water level indicator outside. It also takes quite a while to boil water from cold but it makes up for it by keeping it hot for so long.I really recommend this model especially at the current, mad electricity price hikes!

The :( outweigh the :)
First the positives. It works, it boils quite fast, it keeps water warm, the colour and appearance is quite nice. For my needs this is ideal as I have a tendency to get distracted while making tea and boiling the kettle 3 times before I'm done.Unfortunately the whole experience is let down by the general standard of engineering here. For starters, it boils 3 times before shutting down, a complete waste of energy, which is very odd for an energy saving device. Then as it's boiling, the stream comes out by the handle and continues as you are pouring. This is not ideal or comfortable. The escaping steam enters the joints in the lid and pretty soon the lid is full of water which leaks everywhere as soon as you take the lid off to fill the kettle. Then as you are pouring hot water is has a similar system to those really awkward milk jugs at wetherspoons which start or stop pouring a few seconds after you expect them to. This means you have to judge carefully and not rush or you might spill boiling water everywhere. Then there is one of the main features, the ability to set the temperature. I personally can't see the point in heating the kettle to 50 degrees and I would have preferred they spent the money on improving the ergonomics. All in all a disappointing experience, especially considering the price, and I definitely won't be buying anything produced by this brand again.

Hi first is is it seems very good quality, I had a dialog on my boat which was way to powerful for my system so I was looking for a quality (boat is artdeco) looking kettle that was eco friendly. When I test boiled a full kettle at 19:00 it was still 80 degrees at 22:00 ( I went to bed). Very impressed

Great for chinese/green teas. Also stays hot for hours.
Spot on product. Does exactly what I wanted. Had it now for over two years and use it in my office, all day, daily. No problems. Excellent product.

Expensive, then breaks, then Vectra service is awful
I bought vectra 4 kettle a little over 2 years ago for nearly £100. It is expensive for a kettle but I wanted to get something that would last and be more environmentally friendly. At first I was happy with it, although sometimes the steam comes our where the handle is situated which is dangerous, so I didn't like my children using the kettle. After about a year the base started playing up so the kettle would not always switch on or reach the desired temperature. After two years it stopped working altogether. I asked Vecrta what to do and they said I coudl buy another base but sent the wrong link so when it arrived the new base didn't work. I then contacted the again and they ignored me at first and then offered to send the correct base free of charge. It never turned up and did not respond when I contacted them. Their phone number is hard to find but I eventually got it and they said the base I wanted was out of stock and would not be back in until January - so now I have a very expensive and useless kettle. Do not buy this product - it breaks, is poor value for money and customer service is almost non-existent.
