Although made in 1993, the theme and questions posed by this film are timeless. David and Diana are a young couple very much in love but find themselves in financial difficulty during a recession. During an evening at a casino where they try to win some cash they meet enigmatic billionaire John Gage, who goes on to offer the cash strapped couple a deal: he'll give them $1 milllon for one night with Diana. It's a very tempting offer and would end their money worries, and they are strong enough as a couple to survive just one night.... aren't they?A moral dilemma and it's repercussions on relationships and lives is played out with strong performances from the leads. Gripping, heartbreaking, entertaining and thought provoking, this offers a lot more than much of the 'fluff' produced today. I thought enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone who enjoys an intelligent film.

Ok basic concept, you're in financial difficulty and a billionaire offers you a million dollars for a night with your wife. But I just thought the point of the stick this balances on was a bit weak. They're so in love and seemingly unbreakable, but it doesn't take much for them to make this stupid decision.They were in debt, most are. But their financial problems weren't "how are we gonna put food on the table and feed the kids", they were "oh no, i'm running out of money to build this house".Maybe i'm wrong or different, but if I had a relationship like that, i'd give up money, dreams and live dirt poor for it, it wouldn't really matter.But I see that the film isn't about could you make this decision, it was about, could you forgive yourself and your partner and live with it. That's the tough question you come away with.I thought it was really good, just thought they could have created a better reason for it, something a bit more life and death. Because i'd imagine this isn't even a question to most when put like this.

An intriquing film posing the question of what can money buy? Can it buy love? Can true love survive such an agreement? Very well acted, esp' Woody Harrelson, music perfect - love this film!

Love this movie! I know some feminists dont like it but she had a choice so she was empowered

A financially struggling strong couple.Have their lives totally changed. Just find yourself gripped to the storylineMoney cannot buy love, however

Makes you think what people would do if they had a chance to change their lives or mess things up big time for money, the root of all evil!

Vale muchísimo la pena este Transfer en 4k. Lamentablemente con pobreza en extras y sin subtítulos. Una pena.

同タイトルの原作本レビューにも書きましたが、映像作品だけならCASTが好きならコレクションするのも良いのかと思いますが映画ストーリーだけで購入するのはオススメしません。映像化されてないヒロインの会話が多いので、補うために原作本も購して読んでから観ると！なるほど～と良い映像作品になります

La calidad del blu ray deja mucho que desear, es prácticamente la misma que la del DVD. En cuanto al sonido está en español latino, no de España, algo inexplicable pero que por desgracia es así.Aún con todo es una de las mejores películas románticas de todos los tiempos. Imprescindible.
