Eye candy, plain and simple!
If you are a monochromatic fan, appreciate Scandinavian simplicity, and wish for a new and inspiring use of fabric, you will definitely enjoy this book. Even though most of the patterns are for home dec projects (wallhangings, mobiles, toys, placemats, table runners), handbags, needlework cases, and totes, the ideas are adaptable to quilts and coverlets. Patterns are included, but they are not secured so I suggest, if you buy "used," that you make sure the patterns are included.I have all of Yoko Saito's books and love the ideas that she comes up with and her bold use of monochromatic colors. Her work is proof that monochromatic colors, if used well, are NOT boring!

Wonderful book
I live in Norway. It is my first Yoko Saito's book. And it is really wonderful and very special. The book is so beautiful. Can't wait to make quilts from this book. Thank you for the inspiration!

I loved knowing more about Scandinavia
I loved knowing more about Scandinavia. That is my heritage and I love anything that has to do with Scandinavian crafts and culture. Her book is absolutely beautiful although her patterns are somewhat challenging. I now have three of her books and am totally enthralled with her.

Yko Saito: ALWAYS inspiring
There is something so appealing to me ; combining Japanese careful sensibility with Scandinavian careful sensibility. What a nice combination. There are some very beautiful projects in this book, beautifully illustrated and carefully explained. I never have the slightest problem learning new techniques in anything written by Yoko Saito. I can recommend this book to beginning and advanced quilters and sewists alike. I just cannot imagine anyone being disappointed .

Visual candy!
This book combines two of my favorite ideas for designs: Yoko Saito and Scandinavian art. I am especially looking forward to using the Dala horse design, but there are wonderful bag projects and a tour of a famous Scandinavian designer's house. As with all books of Yoko Saito's, this one is "meaty" and dense making it well worth the price.

Great book for the first time user of "Saitos" patterns
Her books are wonderful as my other reviews have stated. This one ...however... has much more direction with the ...how to... in the book. The Scandinavian influence is pure perfection... pictures are informative... have already decided if I make one of her designs this is the book I will start with as instruction is more on a beginner level...

What's not to love
This book offers lots of projects I want to try. Directions seem very clear and I like how they reference the photos and pattern which makes it easy to locate. As usual, Stitch Publications does a beautiful job with pictures and instructions.

Yoko Saito- What's not to love?!
Although this is a quilting book, she includes brief sections of Swedish Handiwork throughout the book. I thoroughly enjoyed these departures from just the patterns which are also excellently explained. Just a quick note though, the Blue Dragonfly Quilt Shown in the beginning of the book is inspirational only. No pattern is included for this. That being said, I just love so many of the patterns which are Scandinavian inspired.
