I did not discover the beneficial properties of 5-HTP until after I was diagnosed with Post-Partum depression with anxiety, and struggling with a lot of stress in my life. I tried prescribed anti-depressants under the advice/care of my doctor and therapist, but I wanted a more holistic alternative to help with my issues. I did my research and learned about 5-HTP, and compared many brands that sold the supplement alone or in a blend (for example: New Mood by Onnit). This one grabbed my attention because the amount was small enough in accordance with research spouting differing levels that worked for women. Also, the price could not be beat. I've been using this for over a year with great effect. Some days I forget to take it, or even weeks, and I don't have serious withdrawals or problems. But I do notice that my days when my anxiety does come back, it usually occurs when I have gone long periods without taking it. Considering this has less side effects than most prescription medication, this is a great affordable option for people looking to help take the edge off their anxiety or depression. It's not a magic pill, but damn close to it, in my opinion. That being said, please ensure you do your own research, and talk with your doctor about it to make sure this does not interact with anything you are already taking. One concern that appeared in my research was if you are already taking a SSRI, taking this in addition to could lead to a serotonin overdose, which is not good. I never took this with my anti-depressants, as I quit my medication well in advance before trying this option. Other notes: the pill is small, and easy to take. I recommend taking this at night if you do start taking it, as it can lead to being sleepy. Not that 5-HTP makes you sleepy per se, but I think once the body starts calming down and allowing the brain to relax, sleep is a natural by-product because you're probably already sleep deprived. I eventually moved taking it from at night to in the morning, and have no issues with being tired. Lastly, there is really no flavor with this product. No after-taste noted, no bitter bite like some supplements can have. A plus if you are averse to strong tastes or smells, as this lacks either. It's just neutral in both taste and smell.

I Love these Nitrol stress tablets. They really do calm me down and make me feel better. A natural way to relieve my stress and anxiety, especially before and during that time of the month Ladies.

Didn’t try very long. Honestly , not many over the counter stuff work for me . I went back to prescriptions meds . It might be perfect for someone else however. Don’t go by my review
