Amazingly bold and fantastically wonderful coffee.
This has to be the best coffee I have gotten from a Keurig machine to date. The Swingin' Bold has a strong dark woody aroma when brewed. You can see the natural oils on the surface after brewing, something almost never seen with other K-cups. This coffee has a potent flavor that smacks your pallet around and lets you know you're drinking one heck of a cup-of-Joe. When drinking there is no bitterness to it at all, unlike other dark roast coffee's. Also another note is there is none of the acrid after taste commonly found with many coffee types. Instead you are left with a smooth pleasant taste that makes you want more. It is as close to a espresso type blend as you can get from a Keurig. I brought in a batch of them for my office who are a bunch of coffee snobs who will only drink from their hand ground specialty $25./lb coffee that was made with an Aeropress keeps coming back for more of this. Out of curiosity opened a used capsule up to see what's what with it. We were all amazed with how much coffee that is packed in there. Mad Monkey has packed this absolutely full with what looks like a near espresso grind coffee and is using a totally different filter than the normal K-cups. So the claims that they make about it are true.A couple things to note is with the 2.0 Keurig's unless you have the sensor block in place your coffee maker will pitch a fit about it. Also because there is so much coffee packed in there and the special filter causes it to brew much more slowly so be patient and wait until it is finished or it will bubble grounds up the top puncture point.

Mad Monkey *insert giggle here* has a Great Taste and Price Tag!
In an effort to only charge by co-workers $0.50/k-cup, I'm always on the lookout for a great k-cup deal on Amazon! I will admit that the name of the coffee is what drew me in but since the initial "giggle", the coffee is what keeps drawing me back in. In an office of 40+, it gives me anxiety to try and choose a coffee that everyone will like - so far, the Midtown Medium and the Lazy Daylight have fit the bill! I've never had an broken or unsealed cups, no weird aftertaste, and no complaints, from an office where complaints fly like winds. My only complaint is that I wish they came in larger sizes. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed!

FINALLY! A decent bold K-cup that doesn't feel like it's got it's hand in your wallet.
5/8/17 UPDATE - WARNING - my wife tried the "Lazy Daylight" and it is NOT Keurig 2.0 compatible! I was going to send it back but she has been peeling them open and dumping the coffee into a set of "Froz-Cup" refillable/reusable cups we have. She likes the blend and since we have a dozen of the Froz-Cups and they're ok in the dishwasher it's no big deal. Without them we'd definitely return the box.Original review:I like REVV and Dark Magic but you just KNOW the Green Mountain name adds a few bucks to the box. Monkey brews a bold cup with good complexity, a nice acid balance - just bright enough - and that coffee twang that a good bold coffee should have without tasting like hot chocolate (strong coffee fans out there know what I mean). My wife adds that it stands up to the cream if you like a dollop in there too; too many coffees turn instantly "white". I really can't find a better bold cup for the price (but I can't stop looking). Like it bold? You've gotta try this.NOTE: I only gave it 4 stars because it does have a minor annoyance. The "non-woven" filter (you can see it - the cup itself is clear) contributes to the great taste, but also contributes a bit of sediment to the bottom of the cup. It's no big deal whatsoever unless you drain your mug without thinking - you'll get a bit of fine coffee "silt" in your mouth, which isn't pleasant. I did it once; I'm careful now and haven't done it again. It's a very small price to pay for the richer flavor that the non-woven filter produces.

GREAT coffee FINALLY!
I usually drink Americanos which I make with my Breville Barista Express using locally roasted beans. I have tried about twenty different highly-rated K-cups which all tasted like stale coffewater. This stuff is delicious (about an 8/10 while my coffee is 10/10).This coffee DOES leave more fine coffee grounds in the cup than others. Deal with it. It's far less than french press flotsam.I see a lot of reviews that say the cups "eXpLodeD" and while I've seen a little more escape of grounds on the cup I haven't had any probs (except the first box appeared to have been a returned carton, it had lots of labels on it and had been taped and re-taped and then taped again). I just received my second box; it looks pristine compared to the first.

decent coffee but flawed "Realcup" pods.
The Mad Monkey Midtown Medium coffee itself was ok, especially when you factor in its low price. However, the box of forty-eight that I received had only nine intact "real cups", all of the others had lost their seal making the coffee stale and undrinkable. The Marley coffee company, which is my favorite brand coffee, uses the same type of k-cups branded "Realcup", and usually out of a box of forty-eight there are a few with broken seals. I have seen a box of Marley One Love have up to six defective "Realcups", which is bad, but to have more than 80% of the k-cups be unusable is not acceptable. The only reason to spend the extra money for K-cup coffee is its freshness so I can't recommend this brand. In the picture the pile of cups on the right are all the ones with broken seals and the few on the left are intact. Notice how the ones on the left are puffy and the ones on the right are flat and wrinkly looking.
