If you like High school football, this is a must read. Not the best thing I've ever read on the subject....but it's still a great book. Of course I'm biased that my high school alma matter made it on the front cover, but I enjoyed most of the stories of the other teams as well.

This was a good read. It was a good flowing book that kept you interested and you did not want to put it down. The book starts in Texas with high school football and ends in Texas with high school football. The covers 18 different high school football team in 18 weeks. The book covers each team for a weeks time and allows the reader insight in to the school week long activities from watching film to traveling to gameday. This is well worth the read and worth getting for any high school football fan.

This book is what High School football is all about. The author is able to capture the love of this sport from every area of the United States. Each team, while playing the same game, are very different as to the ways and ideas that motivate them. I enjoyed getting to know each coach represented in each chapter. Mr Hopkins has a winner here. It is every bit as good as Friday Night Lights.
