Love the Journey to College: Guidance from an Admissions Consultant and Her Daughter Paperback – August 1, 2017

If you're feeling overwhelmed with the college process (and high school in general), Jill and Amanda's thoughtful approach will create a calmness that is palpable. "Hearing" the different perspectives from both a college admissions counselor and a current college student, who recently went through the admissions process, brings it all together to perfection. They each provide a very "human" approach to this sometimes challenging environment which focuses on the college-bound student as an individual for which there is no "one size fits all". One takeaway from this amazing resource is that each student needs to be true to him or herself throughout high school and then seek a college that suits their needs (academics, location, size, social life); visiting and asking questions to ensure a comfortable setting for the college experience. As my daughter embarks on her senior year and starts the next phase of the college journey, I am relieved and grateful to have found this enlightening, gentle, yet authoritative guide to rely on. Thanks to this endearing mother/daughter author team for providing some peace of mind through the madness!

I’ll be in 10th grade this year.  I’m not sure where I would want to go to school and honestly the whole thought of figuring that out and applying to college is pretty scary.  My parents saw this book and bought it for me because it’s written by both a guidance counselor and her daughter who just went through the process.  I have to say, I really enjoyed it.  I feel like Jill and Amanda are talking to me personally.  They answer so many questions that I’ve been thinking about.   I especially like Amanda’s reactions throughout the book.  She gives a lot of great advice!

The minute I received my copy I was so excited to start reading it. Within minutes I had sticky notes attached to so many pages so that as I go thru the college process with my child I will be able to reference back to these amazing suggestions. I love how Jill gives her insight and then her daughter, Amanda, gives some clarity and perspective from a teenager. Together the 2 of them have created an incredible resource book that will help any family as they go thru the college process. LOVE LOVE LOVE !

This book is exactly what I needed. I had been dreading the prospect of my twins starting their junior year of high school and all the associated stress. However, this book took a process that seemed overwhelming and made it seem manageable, and dare I say, enjoyable. There are so many useful tips in this book that never would have occurred to me on my own. Thank you to Jill and Amanda Madenberg for writing the perfect book at the perfect time. Highly recommend!!!

This is an awesome book!! I got it to help my brother with the college admission process, and I wish I had something like this when I was applying a few years ago! It has so much great advice and I know it will help him so much. Thank you to the authors for all their insight!! This is absolutely a must read, especially for those going through/about to go through the process, but really, it's helpful for everyone.

I loved this book!. As a mother of a rising junior approaching the college process for the first time, Love the Journey to College provided me with clear straightforward answers to so many of my questions. The book is well organized, fun to read and full of sage wisdom and helpful hints. I can’t recommend it enough!

Best book on navigating the college process that I have ever read. Jill offers expert wisdom and unique strategies, and Amanda engages in a refreshing attitude of loving the journey and all that comes with it. The book targets both students and parents, so there's something for everyone!

An excellent guide for parents and students. Clear, concise advice that is sure to ease the process of finding the right match between student and college. I especially enjoyed reading the thoughts of both Jill and Amanda. I'm looking forward to beginning the journey with my student.
