Durable and Gorgeous, fairly priced
Sturdy, durable and absolutely gorgeous. This wakizashi is a steal for the price and the quality is excellent. As stated, the wakizashi itself is very sturdy and durable; it feels well-built without any shortcuts. Both the handle, the blade and the ring (I don’t know the Japanese words for them yet) are gorgeous and beautiful. I did not expect the blade to be so jet-black and was happily surprised with how well the color is set and how awesome it makes the blade look. Definitely is, as cited by the seller, full tang. Doesn’t come very sharp, but then again I can see that as a huge liability for the seller so I completely understand. Just a helpful hint, never attempt to sharpen a katana or wakizashi yourself with a wetstone, you will ruin the blade. I don’t remember the brand but that one automatic knife sharpener with the belts is supposed to work really well with katanas and wakizashis, but disclaimer don’t hold me to that it’s just what I’ve heard. I believe this company truly cares about the quality of its swords and the beauty associated with them, along with the pride and satisfaction they know their customer is going to feel based on the objective beauty and sturdiness of their swords. I love mine, and I’ve just ordered a second sword from Jipen, a full-size full-tang pink katana that looks sick! I’ve heard some people say that some of the parts are cheap, okay that might be true, but not where it counts. The blade is real steel, and the hilt is responsibly put together in an extremely stable and hardy manner. The reason katanas get so expensive is two-fold, one; stupid Westerners are willing to pay way more than they are objectively worth and still brag about the great deal they got. At the end of the day a full-tang decently priced katana with a real steal blade is just as functional and a much better bargain than that ridiculous $500-$3000 garbage. I’ve heard people brag about those katanas as I explain the logic to them but they don’t get it. Maybe if there’s real gold and silver all over the sword it’s worth that much but chances are it isn’t. Don’t fall into the stupidity trap. Two, sellers of these items often charge extra for some external benefits, bells and whistles. Not this company. This company charges a fair price, even better, a very reasonable price for immense quality! I’m positive I’ll buy from Jipen again. Btw, next time someone brags about spending $1300 or whatever on their katana/wakizashi, laugh at them and call them a sucker. Jipen is where it’s at

Great Wakizashi
I was actually surprised at how well it was for the price. I used a piece of paper and sliced through it with barely any ease to test the sharpness, and to my surprise it sliced through very easily. The design is already extremely nice, fits perfectly on my shelf at a length of 31 inches overall, and the all black build quality is pretty great. I know the product dimension says it’s 41 inches when you click on the measurements, but it’s 31 inches; it is not 31 inches for the blade only, 31 inches also includes the handle. However; when I measured it, I was getting between 29-30 inches. It’s not a noticeable difference, but if you’re considering the wakizashi instead of a katana due to the need of fitting it in a tight area, then there is some wiggle room; since it may be an inch or two off. The blade itself came with oil applied onto it, which then had wrapping seal over the blade and oil to prevent rust on the blade. I appreciate that, most companies usually don’t go out their way to oil their blades; at least with my experience, and especially when the price is this low. Afterwards, all you really have to do is clean the blade every month to avoid rust on the blade, but as of now, there is really no reason not to get this blade. If you’re looking for display only, it’s perfect. If you’re looking for a slicing test, it did pretty well when I tested it. I recommend this, and I’ll be buying again one day in the future. Jihpen Swords is my favorite
This all black wakizashi was the last all black sword I needed to complete the set of 3. The katana and tanto came from Jihpen Swords as well. I’m very surprised and happy because the level of quality you get for the price. I have bought katana from Jihpen many times before, at varying levels of quality and price. The entry level blades I’ve bought are very nice and the high end blades I’ve bought are really beautifully done. All swords, including this one, have been put together very well. No rattling in the tsuba and no blade rattle inside the saya. For the price, you almost can’t afford to pass them up. They all came razor sharp with absolutely no visible damage or defects. They all feel really good in the hand and are really beautiful to look at. Even if you don’t want to buy these particular items, look at Jihpen’s page and all they have to offer. The best thing about this seller is his customer service and willingness to do whatever he has to do to ensure the customer is happy. That means a lot to me and will cause me to continue to buy from that type of seller. He will even customize to your liking if the item ships from their warehouse overseas. He is a top notch seller and an even better person. Anyone that will go out of their way to make their customer happy and content is not common. I’ve dealt with some that never return messages or are very rude after the purchase has completed. Not Jihpen! Jihpen is the first place I go when I’m able to buy a katana, wakizashi or tanto. I’ve collected Japanese edged weapons for over 20 years and I have accumulated 30+ katana, wakizashi and tanto over the years. With all the sellers I’ve dealt with over the years, online and in-person, Jihpen has been the easiest and most reliable seller I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. Any concerns or questions you may have, he will take the time to answer. As I said, he’s my go-to, my first stop when I’m in the market for a new addition to my collection. I’m very particular about what I will spend my money on since I have so many. Jihpen has a huge selection. I promise you will find one you’ll like. Check Jihpen out. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks for another awesome piece, Jihpen. I’m more than pleased with the new addition.

RIEN A DIRE DE NÉGATIF * prix excellant * emballage parfait, bien protéger, lame huiler.
