I have a quasi-work bench sized lathe. Its definitely not a mini lathe but it is also not a floor standing lathe. I use if for little projects around the ranch. This set is just perfect for the size lathe I have. I am still learning how to do inside threading so I cant really tell if it is good or not but it seems like it works for me. I really like being able to index the cutter heads. The boring bars are thick enough that I dont hear any chatter.

These seem to work quite well - so far I've only used the right hand ones for obvious reasons, but they work! Could be a little stiffer.

As the pic shows, the mounting hole on the tool is offset too far from the center of the insert (also shown is the weirdly-shaped insert that was installed on the tool as-shipped). Some offset is necessary to insure the insert presses firmly against the back sides of the tool, but not this much. Consequently, the included inserts - which do look nice, btw - don't fit into the tools. The inserts do fit into other 16ER/16IR tools, so it's not a case of the inserts being manufactured wrong.I've had good luck with this brand in the past, and even though I don't expect much in the way of stiffness/strength for these cheap import tools, I did at least expect the included inserts to actually fit. Hence they are getting returned and I'll definitely be avoiding this brand in the future.

This is a nice set for someone working with a mini lathe or doing light work! It's kind of nuts how inexpensive these import carbide tools are.
