i purchased this kettle because of its looks, capacity and pedigree..what a disappointment..the handle became mad hot when I first used it..I made sure the flame on my hob was correct but to no avail..a kitchen glove was needed to use the kettle otherwise i would burn my hand..also, the black on the handle started to peel away from the handle itself..also, the lid is too difficult to remove..it has been a complete waste of money

After paying £[] for a kettle that has no element I expected something a little bit special, I was wrong. Although it looks okay and does what it should, there are a few flaws that are maybe to be expected with cheap kettles but not for one in this price bracket. Firstly, as the other reviewer states, the handle gets hot and oven gloves or a tea towel are needed to handle it after boiling. Secondly the stainless steel does mark and discolour slightly even when used on the smallest gas ring. Thirdly and most disappointingly, in my opinion a major design flaw - the lid is glass and the handle is attached to this glass by the ends being peined over, obviously because it's glass, this cannot be done sufficiently and so the handle breaks off! My advice then, buy a kettle of a different manufacture, this is a case of buyer beware.

Easy to fill, works as advertised. Only problem is the silicon cover of the handle does not work. I have to use a tea towel or oven glove to pick up a boiling kettle, not very good, back to the drawing board.

I bought this on the high street as we're looking to save money on Electricity. Impressed by the BBC backing, I assumed I'd have a decent kettle that would last a few years. I haven't even got to experiencing the handle problem others have mentioned, as it's going back today: the whistle is almost silent, like someone who can't whistle, mainly air!It seems all the money on manufacturing this item went on looks alone. I might as well just boil a pan of water as the sound of bubbling water is about as audible! Don't waste your money!

The handle has come off completely after only a couple of month's use!Very disappointed.Am now requesting a refund.
