Biscayne Privacy Stained Glass Decorative Window Film 24" x 43"

Purchased this for a window directly over a bathtub. We've had our plantation shutters closed for a year for privacy; which means the bathroom was dark & gloomy. I wanted privacy, but also some natural light and something beautiful to look at on a daily basis. This seemed to promise all three at an affordable price relative to leaded/etched glass. Plus this privacy film is as easy to remove as it is to install.Installation is incredibly simple and only took minutes (the long part is measuring). Just spray a mix of water and dish soap liberally on a clean window. The film material actually "shrinks" about 1/10th of an inch once applied. So you may want to measure slightly larger and then trim down with a straight-edge.The quality of the vinyl film is very good and measures 8-mil (.20mm) thick. I also applied an Artscape "texture" privacy film in the other bathroom windows, and the Biscayne is at least twice as thick. The Biscayne ink is also high quality and you can actually feel the image is raised over all the "leaded" parts of the image. As far as the image itself, it looks exactly like the commercial press photos - the colors are vivid and it does give an overall illusion of stained glass, especially from a distance. Up close, I know better; but when I catch a glimpse of the window in a bathroom mirror, it looks like authentic stained glass. It is a beautiful accent window, plus now I keep the shutters open and get plenty of natural light.I couldn't find any real-world photos of this privacy film on the internet, so I've included a few to help others decide if this is for them or not.

I've ordered this product twice (in different sizes). Both times the colors were less saturated than the colors in the product photos. The second roll I ordered didn't have any backing paper and several small creases in the material from being banged around in shipping. I was able to cut enough for my project so I didn't need to return it, but if I'd needed to use the whole sheet I wouldn't have been able to. I'm happy with the overall results, but I really wish it had the deep rich colors I was expecting.EDIT: Apparently they have changed from the white backing paper to a clear plastic backing film. Be sure to remove this film before installing.

This is a great company to do business with! They are extremely helpful and their product is great. I will say, however, I liked the old red application tool that came with the original film better than the card that comes with them now. This new card is horrible! This is the second set I ordered. Not because there was an issue with the first, but because I moved and needed an additional one. I carefully saved the old one and reapplied it to the new home. Worked like a charm. I am going to be ordering more for another part of my home. They are great at keeping heat out as well as privacy. Very pretty product!

The design on the website looks so detailed and clear but the actual material is fuzzy looking to the point I haven't even tried putting it up.

The film looks good and retards the heat.. Went on easy and the colors are just right for my atrium window.
