Two thumbs up from my physical therapist!
This is the second lift I ordered and this one is SO MUCH better! The first was cheaper in cost but very cheaply made - all plastic. This model is well built; sturdy (aluminum) and steady. The seat goes down to within an inch of the floor with an angled, beveled edged seat that makes it easy to scoot onto. The arms are critical to help standing up or fold up if a slide board is used to transfer onto a chair. The wheels are good quality and work like a charm to move the lift. The only disadvantage for some may be the assembly that will be required. The directions had lots of pictures but not much text explanation.. It took me about 15 min. to complete. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and the piece-of-mind it gives me.

great customer service
This lifter is fantastic. It's a sturdy, weighty piece of equipment that seems built to last. The weight might be a downside for some, but it makes the chair less likely to tip over and I'm glad for the weight. I chose this model because it looked as though the distance from the floor to the edge of the seat (while in the lowered position) was less than an inch. It's actually about 3/4", which is better than the other models I've seen. The most difficult part in using any chair lift is getting the person's butt from the floor and onto the chair. I think this model makes it as easy as it can be - the seat is close to the floor and has sloped edges, there's a smooth finish on the chair helps the butt slide into position. Mine was damaged during shipping and customer service was great. I had a replacement part in a couple days and it's been working perfectly for 4 or 5 months now.

Great Device at an Great Price..
So far so good, use this to transfer my 98yr old father from bed to wheelchair, just charge the battery and off you go...comfort is not great due to metal sit and back but it lacks it easy to slid onto, this lift is well built of steel and is very sturdy, it rolls easy on plush carpet and the wheels are non marking on wood.

Well made but hoping you'll never need it
Heavy steel frame. Well balanced made with quality, institutional grade materials. Tried it out, putting it thru its paces on my 6ft 200lb son before I would ever use it on my bilat amputee elderly spouse. Shook it with son in it, had him shift his weight to check for instability. Motor was absolutely silent going up an down fully loaded. My spouse is only 145lbs so a tall 200lb man is test enough. We tested it with loading and unloading from floor to a chair. Did very well. The remote controls are attached to the device with a long flexible cord so it won't get lost and its magnetic so it sticks to the side of the column out of the way when not in use. I need to get a adhesive mounted cord winder to wind up the cord that is attached to the device that plugs into the wall to either use it with outlet power, or when I need to charge up the battery for battery power operations. Indicator lights on the battery pack and on the remote itself warns you when the battery is getting low and turns green when the battery is fully charged. The heavy steel lift tips onto wheels and rolls away when you want to put it away (empty!) but has firm sturdy handles to balance the device as it moves so its no more heavier or difficult to handle than pushing a empty hand truck (dolly). It passed my safety concerns. I chose this device over a sling type lift because there is no swinging around as you are going up or down making the rider less fearful. The chair has arm rests that raise up out of the way and lowers so the rider has handles to hold onto for natural sitting balance and a seat belt to strap him in. I bought this for fall recovery in the event that my spouse does not have use of his prosthetics to get back up from the floor as I am not capable of lifting him.

Peace of mind is waiting
After calling 911 fall assist twice in four months, we went looking for another answer to a falls with the inability of the fall victim to get up by themselves, and also to give a break of heavy lifting to their caregiver. Upon delivery by Amazon, the boxed lift was a little heavy to get in the house for assembly, but once in, it was easy to assemble. A small personal wrench helped the job go faster than using only the included tools. The seat goes almost to the floor -(about an inch away)- for an easy scoot onto the lift after a fall. The seat then raises to dining chair height for a comfortable transfer to another surface such as a bed or chair, or to allow for standing up. With only two wheels it is moved like a trolley for the repositioning of the one who has fallen, and also to be moved to be stored. Whoever is assisting the faller needs to realize that pushing a person in the "trolley seat up mode" requires some strength, so try to be as close to the place for transferring or standing as possible. This lift provides peace of mind for any future fall episodes and can undo the need to call 911 for fall pickup help. 911 would still be necessary if there are any outward signs of harm from a fall, however 911 could also use the device to assist the person who has fallen. The moveable arms are also a big bonus, especially for transferring from the lift seat to another sitting surface. Other reviews mentioned the slowness of the seat movement, but it is a small inconvenience for all the benefit it provides. The motion upward from the floor allows the person who has fallen a chance to catch their breath which can be beneficial before transferring or standing for the situation being addressed ie a fall and difficulty getting off the floor. So take a breath and be patient. :-) 911 provides a great service, but this device adds a little more privacy and dignity to the fall victim!! Hopefully it will collect dust, but we will keep it charged and ready just in case. I would highly recommend this item!

Delivery was even sooner than expected. The chair lift was very carefully packed against damage - a lot of thought went into the shipping box design itself. It's a very well made steel and aluminum chair lift, solid and stable, easy to assemble and thanks to the 2 wheels we can move it around with no problem. My wife is very happy with it and finds it easy to operate. Hopefully we won't need it too often but it's a great comfort knowing we don't have to call neighbours or the ambulance for assistance any more. Recommended.

Yes it's very expensive but today at 2am it was worth every penny! My husband has great difficulty walking and has dementia so this morning after the 4th tumble in a week I no longer needed to get my son in law to drive 30 mins to help get him up. He weighs 92kg and I'm 74 it takes me around 3 hours to get him off the floor if he is aware enough to help. Still had to almost pull him onto the seat using a slider sheet under his arms then looped it onto the handles at the back so he was supported enough and up we went. Sadly you can't move it so as he didn't seem to understand to slide sideways onto his wheeled shower chair he did manage to stand and move a foot or so to his bed. The seat doesn't raise as high as his bed though. By 2.45am I was back in bed with a cup of tea, unfortunately wide awake and unable to relax in case he gets up again as he didn't know why he got up so chances are he might again. If you can afford it I recommend it wholeheartedly. It was easy for me to assemble and being all metal very strong.
