Sarantis, Greek Sweet Fruit Preserve in Syrup, Sour Cherry , Net Weight 900g, Glass jar

I just love this product from Chios. Delicious preserved small dark cherries in a thick syrup. This is traditionally served on a teaspoon with a small glass of water to follow however I sometimes make a chocolate cake and gently heat some of the cherries and syrup and pour over the first layer of the cake so that it is absorbed and then a layer of whipped cream and sandwich it with the second cake. Decorate the top to your taste and you have a delicious homemade version of Black Forest Gateau!

We discovered this in Crete some years ago when it was served on top of greek yoghurt as a complimentary dessert. We continue this at home in London and it helps us look forward to our next Greek holiday. Arrives extremely well wrapped and very quickly. Very tasty too. Efharisto!

The Sarantis products are some of my favourite deserts. They contain a high fruit content, they are not very sweet and they retain all the taste and flavour of the original fruit. The sour cherry product is perhaps my favourite because of the right balance between sweet and sour. I often get frustrated when the supply runs out, so please ensure that you continue to be stocked!

I love this cherry preserve, it is so nice to be able to get it even though I can’t visit Greece at the minute. My husband is having it on his yoghurt now I need to get more! The taste is delicious, not too sweet and each jar is packed full of cherries. So happy with my purchase. Arrived quickly and well packed.

It's a classic product for the East and South of Europe, just lacks in flavour, unusual for sour cherries confiture . I've noticed that with other similar products from Sarantis , like quince and figs . Other than that, products arrived well packed. I don't think I will order again .

I first tried sour cherries on Crete and loved them, so I looked on line to see if I could buy them at home. They taste just as I remember them and are lovely with proper Greek yogurt. Packaging was excellent and although a little expensive, a little goes a long way. I will definitely order again. I have since discovered the Greek foods for all website also.

I had this for breakfast with Greek Yoghurt in Santorini and have been looking for it ever since. It’s is truly delicious and makes a very unique desert as well.

Since trying it, Sarantis, Greek Sweet Fruit Preserve in Syrup has become a regular staple in our household. Just put a few spoonfuls in the bottom of a bowl, add some yogurt and sprinkle on some granola and voila breakfast is served.
