Awesome pair of handsets, for the price I believe these are not the best, no, its a Benefitof option. You can feel how much love and heart was invested when created, from the reviews posed on you tube from ca. Co. Which I believe lose this protect :(1.- Made of handset. I saw the price, I didn't even hesitated ordered one of these and 2 silverado one for me another for gift. They are a luxury as handsets. As collectible. The made 9f them so tuff, leather. Metal. Comfort. Status. They are huge!!! They would say at work. Other 3 coworkers have a pair now.2.- sound. I was surprised since the tech specs for these and the Silverado are EXACTLY THE SAME. Had they really only switched the casing of the handsets and just add couple FEW more dollars!? But no. The Silverado are warm, loud but not bulky to call it in a way, they are not loud, but it's because they don't hurt to your ears and till now those are the headsets I have worn the Longest (session) without getting tired. The Laredos are Loud. But at top sound does get a muddy. Then again. I listen to PROGRESSIVE HOUSE ELECTRONICA music RAP POP but as I played my whole EP of Pink Floyd the wall remastered... The headsets, style of the pilots from WW2, the music so clear the guitars, the Drums of the pure classic Rock, these headsets praise for Rock, lady Gaga born this way.... a trip!! If they are still under 20.00 .... Get 2 of them at least. They have charming powers.

For Clear Highs Nice Mids and Sensible Bass Look Here
I love headphone, I have a lot and enjoy them all, I listen all sort of music, That's my only qualifications. I know buy headphones that are a good deal or interesting ( sound or looks). These hit both reasons. Researched these and gather their designed for country type music without hyped bass , figured I don't have any like that. Received them through Amazon excellent service and thought they look good in my hand and on my head, the colors good so don't worry what some other say, their good for any guy to wear. The sound is interesting the bass isn't hyped up but it's there, the mids are not covered over by the bass, the mids are clear and closer to your ears than the bass, the high are nice and forward of the bass, they are bright and not rolled off, but not harsh to me.Tried them with country music ( Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash ) thought they were really good. I tried with jazz music, Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald really sounded good (vocals). Listen to a variety of music not bass driven and again really enjoyed the way these headphone produced their sound signature. These headphones are a bargain at $19:99, they are a $50:00 headphone all day long, the leather and the metal ear cup and enjoyable sound quality. I was surprised that I enjoyed them with some Electronica music i.e John Digweed, Sasha and Nick Warren. With the Bass not hyped and the high forward and clear a lot of interesting sounds came to life, which I really enjoyed, but again this is not a headphone bought for bass, the bass booms before they vibrate you ears. If I broke these headphone I would buy them again even at higher price, within reason.

the fidelity had to be excellent and limit background noise
After deciding to purchase a set of "travel" headphones, I decided on three main criteria; first, the fidelity had to be excellent and limit background noise, secondly the phones had to be comfortable and not too bulky and, finally, they had to be durable in order to stand up to the rigors of travel. Also under consideration was price as I knew these phones would be subject to loss or damage so I wanted to limit my financial liability... I haven't traveled with these yet but the California Headphones Laredo met or exceeded all my other criteria. I have asked for a variety of opinions on the fidelity and all reports are very positive. They appear to be very well made and are lightweight and comfortable. AND, the price was right... Thank you Amazon and California Headphones for helping me enjoy my future travels... Tichiganblues

Quality headphones at an affordable price!
I'm basing my review on the fact that I paid twenty bucks for these with FS. The product quality is very good, not cheap feeling at all - has a quality feel to them. The sound is very good, maybe a bit too bassy for me - I like my headphones to sound bright. All that is easily fixed with an equalizer. The headphones are lightweight and good looking, and I love the braided cable. On the negative side, God graced me with a big squash (full of brains of course), and these are just barely big enough to be comfortable. But after an hour I need to remove them to take the pressure off. If you have a normal sized head, this probably won't be an issue for you. While I love the cloth covered cable, it's too darn short. If you plan on wearing these with a small device in a pocket, maybe the length is about right. But if you want to hook up to your PC or Stereo - you will need to buy a cable extender. The built-in adapter on the cable is a neat touch but I have found that using it degrades and dampens the sound volume. Neat but not that useful, particularly given the short cable and where it's located on the cable itself. But these are small gripes, for the money I paid they are a bargain at twice the price. I'll keep'em!

Sound is okay. Clamping pressure is too high and ears get sore quickly. Headband is uncomfortable. Its saving grace are the build materials - premium.

A little underwhelmed - 2.5 Stars
I've been wanting to try California Headphones since their Kickstarter days, so I was excited to see these on sale for $39. I really want to like these but I have to say that I'm a little underwhelmed. In an attempt to be the anti-Beats it's seems as though California Headphones completely removed any frequency below 125hz. I don't listen to rap, but even rock should have a good kick drum presence. Making adjustments on the EQ doesn't seem to help. Clarity of the mid and upper range is good as long as the volume is not too loud, otherwise distortion is very pronounced.Build quality is very impressive and they look great. I do agree with other comments about the color. It is more purple than bronze. Perhaps that's why they are discounted.I realize the Laredo are their lower end model, so I'm trying to decide if I should return these and get the Silverado while they're on sale too. I don't see myself listening to the Laredos very often.
