Makes great hot chocolate mix
I make hot chocolate mix for Christmas and this powder had great consistency and didn't have a strong powdered milk smell. It was not grainy like some and dissolves well i. I also use it in cooking and baking. Works great for that too. It lasts a long time. And I am using the empty pail for tasks around the house. It seems expensive until you start to use it, then the real value becomes obvious. They do sell it in smaller containers, so get the size you need. It doesn't disappoint.

Pretty good
Thought very good, just wish would get better prices little too expensive! I get 6 lbs two pounds more for another brand and cheaper, and I love it but hard to get sometimes, recently??? But overall, quality product and good taste!

It'll be fine
There are no directions on the pail which say how much powder to use to reconstitute to a cup of water. One review said they had contacted the company who said to use about 1/4 cup powder to 1 cup water. I'll try that and I'll keep a quarter cup measure in the pail so I don't have to go hunting for one.I didn't have trouble getting the pail open because I've seen this type before and knew to use pliers! I had no trouble even considering thatI have achy, grumpy joints from too many adventures into martial arts and construction. The litmus test for me is my coffee. I only put milk in my coffee when I want to treat myself. One tablespoon of powder to one cup of coffee in the past has been perfect. Same here. But this smells different and tastes different. When I opened the pail I noticed a plastic smell. It also tastes a bit of plastic. I won't be using this in my coffee. So now I've drunk my first cup of coffee, on to making a cup of milk. I use water from my Berkey water purifier for everything so let's not blame local tap water for anything. Room temperature water mixed very well. Very well indeed. I've tried other whole milk powders and this one is the only one which mixed totally and easily. I didn't get as much of the plastic smell but more of cow smell with plastic added. Yeah. I did. But it wasn't off-putting. It was like when I lived in the Arkansas countryside and could get milk straight from my neighbor's cow. His was a professional operation so everything was cleaned, vaccinated and inspected. I know what "real" milk tastes (and smells) like before it goes through all the processes to get to the store. And that is my frame of reference for all the milk powders I've tried. The reconstituted cup of milk was palatable and milky and was fine despite the light plastic smell. Oh, I used a milk frother to stir it just like I did the last brand I used. Now let's think about how many cups of milk I'll get out of this little pail of powder. It seems more useful to measure usage by cups than the 259 tablespoon servings marked on the label. Does anyone else think that's a weird thing to put on the label - 259 tablespoons? There are 16 tablespoons per cup, 4 tablespoons to a quarter cup obviously. I will use a quarter cup which is 4 tablespoons of powder to 8 oz of water. So if I make just 8 oz cups of milk I'll get about 64.75 of them. Right? Is my math correct? For today this brand of whole milk powder is more favorable than the others I've tried because it reconstitutes fully and the flavor is acceptable. I haven't yet used it for my Cheerios but it'll be fine. Nothing is going to taste like fresh milk but this is close enough. I think I'll make milk gravy later to see how that works. I'm hopeful. For frame of reference, I'm 68 year old woman, retired military who raised 3 sons, lots of dogs and cats, lived outside for a time and don't smoke or drink or anything else which alters sense of taste. I took an acetaminophen capsule the other day and could taste that! I'm a bit fine tuned... Jussayin'.

Didn’t taste like milk at all. No recipe to follow.
I’ve kept it for use in baking but it doesn’t taste like milk at all and there was no recipe to follow as to how much powder to add to water.

😋😋😋 YUM!
I have never liked the taste of Powdered milk, but OMG, this is so good. I live in the country so I only go to town a couple times a month. Sometimes I run out of milk. I will keep this on hand as a backup.
