TOPPING E30 II 2*AK4493S USB DAC, DSD512&PCM32Bit/768kHz XMOS XU208 USB DAC, USB/Optical/Coaxial to RCA Digital-Analog Converters, Hi-Res Audio DAC with Remote Control (Black)

I've got a bit fed up with various ESS chipset based DAC's I have and thought I'd try an AKM chipset DAC and glad I'm did.The ESS DACs whilst detailed are rather bland and 'emotionless', they don't have any real body in the lower mid range but do have good treble.The Topping E30 II is a big improvement even on the ESS9308K and Pro chipset DAC's I have (at least 4 of them!) The Topping is fuller sounding without bloat but adds better bass texture and warms up the lower mid to give body to vocals and guitars, it's balanced in the midrange and not shouty, treble is really nice where you can actually hear the shape of cymbals and shimmer of very high frequencies.The filers are not particulaly different but I've found that 5 is the best balanced sound to my ears.Across the years I've amassed so may DAC's and still have several amps and speakers because I'm a bit of a hoarder - The Topping E30 II is without doubt a great sounding DAC and has ousted all the ESS DAC's I have!

Great DAC that just works. Sound quality is amazing for it's price, remote control works, no clicking or popping noises with any of my sources on USB, optical or coax inputs.UPDATE: Just had a minor issue with the remote control battery cover, contacted the seller on Amazon and got a new replacement shipped to me for free. Excellent warranty policy, thank you.

Superb dac, comes with remote, power lead and USB cable. Very easy to set up. Closes down when no signal so no worries on leaving it on. I don't go in for all this techno fobia on different sound qualities if it sounds right it does for me. This bit of kit plays every sound source known to man and it does it marvellously absolutely made up with this dac.

I was so looking forward to this after fine reviews, unfortunately it was faulty and that’s where the nightmare started !!!Trying to send it back was a nightmare the place recommended stopped receiving returns and I had to travel many miles to find an alternative, a nightmare experience sll round 😢

Out of the box the DAC worked with my TV via optical cable but whatever I did I couldn't get it to connect to my laptop so I pretty much gave up. Eventually I decided to buy another USB cable and have another try - it worked straight away. I have no idea whether the USB cable that came with the DAC was faulty or it just hadn't seated properly. More likely it was a faulty cable as I had disconnected it and reconnected it a couple of times but who knows? I don't have anything else that uses USB so I can't try it out on anything else. The DAC anyway is working fine and sounds excellent, it looks very good as well so I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality DAC at a reasonable price. In fact I tried a DAC previous to this one that was more expensive but didn't sound as good. I've only knocked a star off because the cable seems to have been faulty the DAC though is worth five stars!Aoshida-Audio and Amazon have been very helpful.

I have owned and used extensively the Topping e30ii for 8 months now.Don’t let the price and comments like “entry level” mislead you. It is a high quality DAC delivering musical, rhythmic, clean sound with good body and a decent soundstage.I have always enjoyed music played through good quality equipment. I listen to a number of genres - classical, vocal (opera and pop), percussion (I love drum music) and jazz.My equipment includes NAD M51 dac (US$2,000), Topping A90D, Krell amplifier and top of line KEF tower speakers and Sennheiser HD600, amongst others.The Topping e30ii (coupled with Topping L30 (older model) is for bedtime listening, placed on my night table.I am enjoying the Topping e30ii very much. When I purchased the Topping A90D, their top of the line headphone amplifier (coupled with my NAD M51), I realized that Topping engineers knew how to make top quality hi-res equipment. I am not disappointed with the E30ii dac.The e30ii did not sound good initially. After 12 hours of use the sound improved significantly. Another 60 hours of use brought out the best. So be patient.Highly recommended.

I tried out the E30II as a possible alternative to using the dac stage of a Wiim Mini streamer, which has received some less than stellar reviews, altho I've never seen any real evidence that flaws in the Wiim's dac reach the level of audibility. I can't claim to provide any real evidence either, but as I expected, I couldn't tell the difference between this dac and the Wiim's dac. I listen to mostly acoustic music at fairly moderate volumes.Anyway, as far as the E30II itself, it gives the appearance of quality, and has a good variety of features and settings. There is auto-standby, adjustable volume pre-amp mode and fixed-level dac mode. It supports a good range of resolution and sampling rate, up to 24/192 on the coax/optical inputs. More advanced data formats are supported on the USB input, and if you need those, the complete specs are easy to find so you can check for compatibility with your data source. Overall there are more settings, features and data formats than most people will ever use.If I have complaints, one would be that the range of the remote control is quite limited, and you have to aim it at the dac fairly precisely. The other is that when switching between tracks on the Wiim App, there is an audible pop. If you listen to loud music it could be annoying. On the other hand I haven't really investigated whether this could be caused by the streamer, altho I haven't noticed the same sound using the Wiim's dac.Overall, in my opinion this is an excellent product. In my estimation it has more capability than most users will really need, but it is not the most expensive product out there by far.

Preso per migliorare il segnale di un netbook con Volumio collegato in USB (viene riconosciuto senza alcun problema), al tempo stesso sulla porta ottica una Chromecast audio, collegato su un ampli Sansui degli anni 70. Ha nettamente migliorato l'audio delle due sorgenti. E' piccolo, molto discreto, con il telecomando in dotazione, nel mio caso posso regolare il volume a distanza, cambiare le sorgenti, molto comodo.Per il prezzo pagato, nel mio caso ha solo portato migliorie.
