filmoplast PBook and Document repair tape What does it do? Perfect if you have rips and tears in books, documents, maps - pretty much any papery thing! How does it work? This is a self-adhesive, very lightweight (20gsm) acid-free paper. The adhesive side is backed with a removable silicone paper to make application extremely simple. Remove the silicone backing paper - this is the trickiest part of the operation and it might take a little bit of time to tease the tape away from its silicone backing paper to reveal the tape which is extremely thin and transparent. Apply it to the damaged/torn area then smooth it with (preferably a bone folder or similar) and this will remove any air bubbles, if done carefully you can create an almost invisible repair. Be aware that with some papers, especially glossy and vintage the tape can be quite visible. This tape is acid-free and very lightweight, it is probably the most widely used repair tape used by book repair specialists and in libraries and museums. This means that unlike normal off-the-shelf tapes like sellotape or other self-adhesive tapes it will not go yellow and brittle and fall off and it is very easy to apply. Other side effects of using acidic products are that the acids from these items can seep into the material you are trying to mend and cause further and often irreversible damage. It is a much friendlier and longer lasting product than standard adhesive tapes.

Bible page repair tape
This is extremely fine repair tape, so it adds little to the 'weight' of the paper page. I've needed to use it to repair several pages in my 'everyday' bible that had been damaged whilst I was travelling. Text can be read through the tape so it doesn't matter if tear has affected words.There is a warning from the seller that it can be difficult to separate the tape from its protective backing - I was really glad of that advance warning because it was challenging at times. You need patience and good fingernails to find a starting edge, then after that it's a doddle!

Great tape.
I used this tape to repair vintage sewing patterns and their envelopes. It does a terrific job; much better than I had hoped for.You do need to be patient removing the tape from the backing paper as it is very thin.Once you have managed to seperate it fold a little down each time you use it and you won't have to fiddle with it again. Super!!

Pour la réparation des livres et journaux, seule possibilité de remplacement des rouleaux adhésifs classiques, qu'il ne faut surtout pas utiliser sur archives ou vieux bouquins et si l'on ne veut pas galérer avec le collage de papier japon avec séchage sous presse.
