Good value, better than the one that came with my set
The idea of multiple dots threw me off a bit, but I wanted something different. It is a fine cue ball, all my pool buddies seem to like it as well.

As advertised
I use this ball in practice, specifically to be sure I'm striking it where needed. The red dots are perfect for this purpose. In the first session, the ball worked as advertised. Further reviews in the future if this changes.

Great way to see your mistakes you are making
I love this trainer ball as I didn’t believe I was putting English on the cue when I was playing. Well, I certainly am, and it’s not a little either. I have retrained myself to be able to make sure I am hitting the cue right dead center each time I shoot, unless I am working on my reverse banks which has been a huge help to know just how much English to put on the cue to get it to move enough where I want it to hit my target ball. I didn’t realize my game was so far off until I used this trainer ball, and I am so happy I did.I play APA and wow, once I found out how much English I was putting on the ball and then corrected for that, within 2 weeks of playing every night, I’ve been moved up in rank.Thank you for this simple yet effective tool.I’m very happy with it and will buy another one when/if this one ever breaks which I don’t think it will.

Good value for the money
This review focuses on the claims made at the top of the item’s Amazon page and in comparison to the cue ball that came with the $170 ball set I use regularly. The product did not come with any labeling describing the product, just in a small cardboard box with a sticker saying NewShot Billiards.Out of the package, this 6-dot cue ball is comparable in visual appearance to the cue ball from my reference set. I could not find any surface defects on the 6-dot cue ball before using it. Initially, I thought the 6-dot cue ball felt like it had more friction on the surface. However, after randomly mixing the 6-dot cue ball in with a group of object balls, I am unable to pick out the 6-dot cue ball with my eyes closed. So, there may not actually be a difference in surface friction.--Grade - AAA, Diameter - 2.25’’/57.15cm, Weight - 6oz/170gI could not find a formalized definition for Grade - AAA as it relates to cue balls. I measured the diameter in multiple places with digital calipers and all measurements fell within 2.251 - 2.252”, which is within the BCA (Billiard Congress of America) specification of 2.25” +/-.005”. Weight on my scale was 5.89 oz, which is also within the BCA specification of 5.5 - 6oz.--Made of high-grade Phenolic Resin, unique impact, wear resistantThe Product Description on the Amazon page for this item says this ball is made of polyester resin, so that’s confusing because it says phenolic at the top. I don’t know of a non-destructive way to determine if it is made of phenolic or polyester. I also don’t know what is meant by unique impact. So far, I haven’t noticed a unique difference between my regular cue ball and this 6-dot ball when it comes to impact, which is a good thing in my opinion. Wear resistance can only be evaluated over time, but nothing noticeable in the first few racks of play.--The fully embedded 6 dots good for players easy to pot & control the ballThe dots do appear to be embedded and not just marked on the surface. The color and appearance are comparable to my reference ball set. It is nice having the 6-dot visual feedback for cue ball spin and this is the main reason I purchased this cue ball. Already I feel like I am beginning to make adjustments based on visual feedback.--A great training ball to improve your skillsIt is interesting that this is labeled as a training ball which may imply that this cue ball is not up to the task of smashing 8-, 9-, or 10-ball racks in all-out competitive play. I typically play straight pool, which only uses slow to medium speed shots, even on break shots, so I’m not too worried about cracking this cue ball.--Note: Due size difference, this cue ball NOT for SnookerYou have been warned. In conclusion, I rated this 6-dot cue ball as 4-star simply because it is confusingly labeled as both polyester and phenolic. I ordered on the description of phenolic to match the material of my reference ball set only to later see the polyester description further down on the page. To be fair, I haven’t noticed a difference in play, but the product should be consistently labeled.
