This is a totally waterproof relay and socket if mounted vertically.
I liked that this is a true waterproof relay if mounted vertically wires facing down. It comes with a fuse and a spare relay. The water proof hood over the relay just holds a relay exactly like the spare relay they give you. Some folks think they give you a water proof and non waterproof. You can use a couple screw drivers to pry the hood apart and the failed relay will drop out. Then you can push the spare relay in the hood until it locks in place. If you dont mount this vertically and it flops down it will fill up with water. I have seen this happen. Also mount the relay vertically and this makes it less prone to cyclic vibration which can cause momentary unintended contact bounce and it can engage ( pin 30 to 87 contact). One of my phots with the green back ground shows how to NOT mount the relay (sideways). Pin 86 is signal power in ( turns on the relay) and pin 85 goes to return or ground. So 85 and 86 energize the coil which pulls in the power contacts (pin 30 to 87). Pin 30 should have fused battery power supplied and pin 87 is the load you are driving. If the coils have diode protection you must put the signal to pin 86 and return to pin 85 or you can burn out the diode. Diode protected coils are used when a transistor turns on the relay. This protects the transistor or FET whatever the case maybe. I think this is a quality relay. I am actually using it to drive my LED conversion headlights on my DR650. If you are using this for a purpose other than they are selling it for make sure you understand current draw and wiring loads so you build a good stable circuit. That will add to the life and dependability of this quality relay assembly.

This is a Fuel Pump Relay Relocation Kit and is NOT a bypass device!
Needed to repair the Fuel Pump Relay that resides in the TIPM (like a fuse box) of my 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan. The original FP relay was starting to fail and almost stranded me. The factory has recalled TIPMS in other vehicles installing kits like this one, but my vehicle is not on their recall list. This kit relocates the relay out of the TIPM allowing more power to your fuel pump, removing future threats of damage inside the TIPM and making the external relay easily replaceable. This kit comes with pre-wired relay base with color coded wiring, 2 relays (one with water-resistant seal and one without seal, Heat Shrink Tubing, metal wire crimps, attached water-resistant fuse holder with 30amp fuse, zipties. It is a clone of the Mopar kit, but not the same quality. The kit was not hard to install after watching some youtube videos. The colors of the wires are correct and the relay base was wired correctly too. I installed the wires by twisting, soldering, using my smaller heat shrink tubing and electrical tape. I had enough wire length to zip tie the relay close to the front of the TIPM. The relay worked correctly and my Dodge is running again. I also have a spare relay without the water tight seal that I will keep it in my glove box in case of emergency. What I did not like....... causing me to take off two stars! The wires do not look like copper and are fairly stiff making them harder to twist together. The Heat Shrink Tubing does not have marine grade glue nor does it shrink enough to even stay in place. I tested it before I tried using it. I had other heat shrink tubing already that was smaller in size. I will update this review if I experience any issues in the future.
