- Features:- Length= 14.5 inches Bust= 16 inches Fabric= Cotton Cut= Sleeveless, Halter Neck - This short halter neck blouse/choli/top has Bandhej Bandhini pattern that is handmade by the tie and dye process after days of intensive labour - Bandhani Bandhej is a technique originating from Rajasthan and Gujarat in India. The colours traditionally are very vibrant; yellow, black, red and green being the predominant ones - This technique is used on lighter shades of browns, turquoise, blue and pink, giving a stunning effect. The technique though simple is quite time consuming and tedious - A single piece of cloth, with intricate 'bandhej' design, takes more than a week to prepare. In this process, each section is carefully dipped in paint and tied again to bring yet another contrast in colour - The process of 'bandhej' is as old as the dress culture itself. In this process first, sketches of the design are made using red chalk or 'geru' and then tying the cloth with thread or twine into a knot, which are sometimes as small as a pinhead. Each portion is then separately and uniformly coloured. When the knots are untied, the glory of the pattern emerges - Usually women are assigned to the fine craft of tying while the men prepare the dye. Bandhani work, after the processing is over, results into a variety of symbols including, dots, squares, waves and strips - Tying of knots and colour combination shows the skill of craftsmanship - The dress is 100% Cotton. It has a variety of patterns printed on it including dots and patches of various colours as a result of the Bandhej Printing - There is extraordinary Sequin-work all over the blouse with hundreds of golden sequins stitched all over the front and back. They are in various patterns including straight rows and zig-zag styles - There is dense work around the bottom hem, neck and sleeves - The neck and the back are opened/closed with the use of hooks
