works like a charm on small screws
I had some stripped 2.5mm hex screws that I needed to remove and I had tried a few other screw removal bits and had no luck. This particular set gripped the stripped screws really well and took it out painlessly.Time will tell how durable this product ends up being, but as for effectiveness, this set was able to do what other sets I've purchased were not able to.One thing that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is that I only received 4 out of the 6 bits in the set. It seems like they have some quality control issues in this product.

Check the packaging in came in for contents
Make sure you check the packaging this came in. Mine came with another product in the box. This ships with no external packaging, so somehow during shipping, it opened, spilled all of the contents into the larger box containing this and my other products, and managed to reclose. This is pretty impressive as the little case is pretty difficult to open.OK, so I pulled this out of the Amazon box, popped it open after a little effort only to find AN EMPTY CASE. I was ready to complain when I removed the other items from the larger box and there was one of the bits from this case. I dug around in the flaps of the bix and sure enough I had everything, even the instruction card. Phew... ...I don't have to complain. The set itself feels very solid. I like having the drill on one side and the removal on the other, so it is just a simple drill, flip, remove process. The case is a bit hard to open, but since I don't expect to need these frequently, that is easily overlooked.I think it would be petty to knock a star for lack of packaging (and the subsequent dispersion among the packaging) so I didn't. I got everything and at the end of the day it is a good product at a good price. If the seller reads this, maybe shrink wrap the case so it doesn't open during shipping.

Great idea but no-go
I had a perfect reason to try this set of six damaged screw extractors. I had a screw that I had started to turn and I started to lose the grip pretty soon after starting. I tried all six of these to extract what I believe was a number 8 screw. Unfortunately, none of these worked and I decided to just drill the screw out. There are no instructions with this set but having used extractors before with some luck I was hoping something in the kit worked. So...at this point I can't vouch for whether these really will work for your situation.

Some good and some bad....
If you know that feeling of discouragement when you are either driving a screw or trying to extract a screw and suddenly your bit is spinning in the screw head, you are not alone. That sucker is stripped and you're never going to get it out with a normal bit. I usually end up trying to grip the screw head with a pair of vise grips and slowly turning/extracting the screw without twisting off the head. I was hoping that for $6 this XsteelPower extractor set would provide a legit way to address these unfortunate situations. The set covers the majority of screw/bolt sizes the Average Joe (i.e. me) is going to face. I didn't happen to have any stripped screws or bolts so I decided to test the system on a length of bolt thread (see photo). I mounted the bolt thread in a vise and set about creating the pilot hole (remember that the βbitβ operates counterclockwise). It took a significant amount of pressure and variation of angle to create the pilot hole, but I eventually got it done (see photo). Initially, I flipped the bit over to the extractor and tried to see if I could feel the βbiteβ of it gripping the screw head. No dice as I just stripped the hole clean. I checked some tutorials on line and saw two important suggestions. First, go to the next size of extractor and second, start slow with firm pressure. That did the trick. I would prefer that the drilling and extracting cutting edges were sharper but these will still work as long as I'm careful and patient.

metal is too soft
I really wanted this to work. Have a small side project that I needed this for. Unfortunately it suffers from the exact same issues that most low price and even some high priced screw extractors have. the metal is just too weak to be useful at all. Starting with the drill side, this is where the problems start, it literally just spins like its round at the end, and eacg bit became dull before cutting even 1mm deep into the stuck screw. Anyway drilled it as deep as I could go before it was beyond dull and the flipped it to the extractor side to try my luck, no grab, it just spins until its dull.. So in conclusion this set is completely useless unless you are trying to extract screws and bolts that are extremely soft metal and/or not really that stuck. Just an FYI though that this is also the case even with many more well known brands from what I have seen watching testing and reviews.

Incomplete But Potentially Handy
The Damaged Screw Extractor Set Remover for Stripped Screws Nuts bolts Drill Bit Tools arrived promptly, but my excitement faded when I realized the largest drill bit was missing. It's frustrating to receive an incomplete product, especially when you're eager to put it to use.Despite the missing piece, I can see the potential value of this set. The assortment of extractors seems robust and capable of handling various screw sizes. The promise of easy removal of rusty or broken hardware is appealing, particularly for someone like me who often encounters stubborn screws in DIY projects. However, the lack of instructions is a significant drawback. While the concept seems straightforward, guidance on proper usage would be beneficial, especially for those less experienced with such tools. Including clear instructions would not only enhance the user experience but also prevent potential mishaps.Overall, the Damaged Screw Extractor Set has the potential to be a useful addition to any toolbox or a thoughtful gift for someone who enjoys fixing things. But the absence of the largest drill bit and instructions dampens its appeal.
