Scythe Mugen 6 Dual Fan Black Edition - Quiet and Powerful
I have never purchased a Scythe product before, but after doing a lot of research, I decided to give this a try. So far this is far exceeding my expectations! It makes me want to purchase other Scythe fans for my case! I got an AMD Ryzen 7 5800x CPU and needed to also upgrade my cooling system. At this price point, the Mugen 6 dual fan black edition was the best option I could find. The 5800x runs very hot, but this cooling system keeps everything running nice and cool even at max CPU load. The 2 fans it comes with are great and the noise is very quiet compared to my last set up. The fans are not rgb, but I am OK with that for my build. The left fan (when mounted on the MB) was very easy to put on and I did so before putting it in the case. The right fan however, needs to be put on after you install the cooler so that you can reach the mounting screw. This can be a little difficult if you have a small case, but for me it wasn't too bad. One major reason I got this product was because it is built to sit to the side of my ram for easy access if I need it. With both fans in place, I can still pull my ram straight out without hitting anything. It is a rather large system overall so make sure you look at the dimensions to see if it will fit in your case. It is pretty tall when mounted to your MB. I have less than a half inch of room from the case to the unit. This comes with thermal paste and a spatula which is awesome! The box also includes mounting hardware and various brackets to make it compatable with popular MB/CPU combos. The mounting screws and brackets all seem pretty sturdy. This Cooler is big and kind of heavy but I don't think it will be going anywhere. I have had this running almost every day for almost a month and everything is still working great! I recommend this to everyone on a budget that still wants a great cooling system.

Good choice
Easy to install, kept my AMD Ryzen 7950 well within spec even during RAM test. Used provided thermal paste, enough for two applications at least (I cleaned and reseated while diagnosing an unrelated issue with RAM, so I installed twice). Fans are nice and quiet, comparable to my Noctua case fans to my ear. Very affordable for a hot running cpu, imo.

Single tower air cooler dual fan push/pull am4
This is tall! 155mm my 2014 logisys mid tower has 16mm clearance left but it is bulged side panel. The width is just right as I want a high cooling air cooler with plenty airflow from the thin yet quiet 120mm fans. The speed are decently fast and continuous just on all time. Being not as thick as the twin tower yet thicker heatsink than most single tower it is a cold beast! The compatibility is just perfect. Better compatibility on asus b350f motherboard barely clears back vram heatsink on msi b450 tomohawk atx am4 motherboard but, still fits perfectly. You can see it on my pictures provided. The durability of the black paint is pretty strong and beautiful. This is my first scythe and I would seriously look at their line over anyone else. I tried 5500 65w cpu and it was at 61c in game. The 5500 didn't work out well with driver bios from asus for me. I will update when I can actually get the msi tomohawk b450 with 3700x 65w 8 core in game reliably. I have full confidence that this scythe mugen 6 black edition will be a cool beast.

Great upgrade even from the Mugen 5! Buy it.
I was upgrading my CPU from a 3700X to the 5700X3D and seen Scythe had a new Mugen out. I had to of course upgrade that as well, though nothing was wrong with the 5 Rev. C Black Edition I had. This is a great cooler all around. Looks nice, performs well, can be used on most CPUs, isn't overly large, just a solid cooler for the price. It's quiet as well and cools the 5700X3D just fine, especially when undervolted, as you should be doing anyway. I get better thermals with this cooler on the 5700X3D than the 5 got on the 3700X, which was surprising as the X3D chips typically run a bit hotter. One thing to note is the mounts are not the same as the Mugen 5. Minor changes were made to the bracket system as well as the cooler itself. No biggie, the AM4 mounting setup is simple enough to swap out. I'm still undecided about the smooth top look vs the button topped 5, but they both look nice and perform as expected. If you are buying the Mugen 6 get the dual fan version. Yes it costs more but with the extra fin density you need a push/pull fan setup. I don't know why they even offer a single fan version.

Mugen 6 Delivers, But Could Be Even Better
The Mugen 6 delivers excellent performance—it really makes my CPU sing. Still, I have a couple of suggestions that could make it even better. First, it would be great to add a cap over the screw hole on the front face of the cooler. The exposed hole looks unfinished, and a simple cover would improve the aesthetic. Second, for a future Mugen 7, I’d love to see a 7-pipe version with wider spacing between the heat pipes at the base. The current pipes are packed quite tightly—roughly 0.25 cm apart—and increasing that spacing to around 1 cm could enhance thermal spread and improve cooling efficiency. A more evenly distributed heat pipe layout would also improve airflow through the fins and reduce hot spots. Overall, the Mugen 6 is a strong performer, but these small refinements would take it to the next level.

Great CPU Fan
This fan was extremely easy to install, so much so that i thought i must have did it wrong. So far, after a few days, the fan runs very quiet and keeps my Intel i5-14600k very cool. Also it fit in my SFF build.

Keeps Core Ultra 9 285K cool and runs quiet even during gaming
Using for Core Ultra 9 285K. Used the thermal paste that came with it. Runs cool and quiet all the time. Doesn't interfere with memory or motherboard components. The only thing I don't like is that's it's a little heavy.

Quiet ~ Effective
Nice and quiet, effective, Minor OC, solid as a rock. Install was not super easy, nor too bad. Par for the course, I guess.

Satisfied with the product! Recently needed a smaller fan that is design in asymmetric mode to give room for my 5090 and I'm quite please with that!

Initial opinions below. Wanted to replace an older big brand 4 year old liquid cooler (2 fans wide) on a i5-12600K. Old cooler was quiet when working etc, but fans been loud when gaming from the beginning - also pump had a quiet but audible voice. Probably it had issues due to age etc, but I wanted a quieter maintenance free solution, no liquids in my pc case, no air bubbles etc. I was not sure how going from liquid to air will work out as far as temps, but according to initial results, temps went DOWN from 75c to 65c when benching CPU with exactly the same software and setup, and it's now basically silent(!!!!) when gaming - a MASSIVE difference. I could also remove a LOT of kit and wires related to the old cooler from the case, the new cooler is actually smaller and lighter than I thought it would be and it looks quite compact inside the case - and as its assymetric I could line it up very close to a fan on the case, so while the fan on the cooler pushes the air through, the fan on the chassis pulls the warm air from it and pushes it outside. Overall I am very-very happy with my 50 quid purchase.
