Review: A must read - Unique, deep & delightful - The Legend of the Goddess is a unique book. Written in very simple and captivating language in his trademark style, Om Swami offers us the history behind each verse of the Sri Suktam. The Sri Suktam, as Om Swami shared, is the sonic form of Mother Goddess Lakshmi, which basically means that this book is one of Her forms! I finished the book in a day and strongly believe that it would be quite an impossible task to find this history elsewhere, unless maybe, one carries out years of research across the Vedas and other scriptures to find the origins and same information. This piece of work is a delight to read. Get ready to be mindblown at the depth of information, simplicity and beauty contained within each chapter. The way Om Swami shifts from past to present and back to past, in his writing, takes incredible skill. I highly recommend this book - you will not regret it. It’s a must read! Review: Incredible! Must read - This is one of the most incredible reads ever. The author takes you on a journey of Sri Laxmi. You literally feel like you are part of the leela. Outstanding!

If you have to pick just one book for your spiritual and material progress, pick this one
Finished my first read of Om Swami's just published book, "The Legend of the Goddess." My initial thoughts are below: 1. I have all Om Swami's books (for some reason, I even have a couple of copies of a few of them), and I've also gifted some to my friends and family. Yet, I think this new book is special. Om Swami himself said that 'this is his most devotional and important work thus far.' At the presentation of the book, he said that it is very dear to him because 'it is the truth,' which piqued my interest. 2. I have a feeling that this book 'will not allow' just any reader. There needs to be an element of 'grace' from the Universe (let's call it this way) for a person to even encounter a book like this in life. When I started to read it, I had a feeling of internal resistance during the first chapter. The concepts and stories were new to me, and they were not a part of my original culture (I am not Hindu or even Indian; grew up in Russia and the West). Yet, now I understand those were the initial tendencies of my own mind. The more I was reading, the more I was enjoying the text and the stories. 3. During the read, I had a feeling that Om Swami was telling the stories that he saw with his own eyes. It didn't feel like he just took some other familiar stories from Hindu mythology, rephrased them, and added his own details. When you read, you have a clear feeling that he was there, experiencing everything himself, and now sharing it with us. It may be difficult to understand how this is possible, but it is possible. Otherwise, I can't explain where one can get such details of the sadhana and stories that he shared on the pages. 4. He mentions somewhere that this book is like the law of attraction (but done with the power of mantra). I believe it's more than that. I would say this book is an instrument that can dramatically change anyone's life for the better in all its aspects. So, I would not waste time on books like 'Secrets' and the like; this is by far a more powerful 'tool'. 5. After reading this book, I am not sure I will be practicing the whole Sri Suktam sadhana myself. But I will be doing a certain part of it -- the one that I feel connected and devoted the most. Interestingly, in one of the chapters, I found a story behind one sadhana aspect that's very important to me. 6. This book would be of great help, even if you don't practice Sri Suktam, but are on the path of any sadhana/practice, because it is filled with so many beautiful and helpful tips. It's the book by a sadhak, a person who actually practiced what he shares and who got actual results from his practice. 7. The book also motivates you to do sadhana, practice, and change your life, because all those stories of sages and rishis, the stories of their devotion to their path -- they motivate a lot. 8. I do believe that we're lucky to have this kind of knowledge at the moment, that there are people out there (like Om Swami) who share such knowledge. When YouTube and social media are just filled with very general stuff, it's indeed incredible that we have access to this kind of knowledge (which I don't think was available to the general public even just a few years ago). 9. The price of the book? Yes, maybe it's a bit higher than other books on Amazon, but let me ask you this: would you invest $20 knowing that at the end you'll get $1000? I think anyone would. The thing is that you will not only get $1000 back; you will get something much more valuable. By far, the greatest investment I have ever seen. 10. I do hope that this book's grace will find you, that you will buy it, read it, and start implementing at least some parts of it in your life. I highly recommend getting this book, as well as perhaps some others books related to Om Swami like his 'If Truth Be Told' or Sadhvi Vrinda Om's 'Rainmaker' about his life. I will be re-reading this one again.

The legends of the Goddess by Om Swami ji
Hi I am updating my review as I have completed chapter 12. The book is extremely well written and stands out in “dharmic texts”. It is unique, as it appeals to a scientific mind because of the way the text has been organised. Let me explain; each Sri Suktam verse comes first, explained with meaning. After that the story line is next with “what I call factual details of where it transpired”. This includes apt details quoted from Vedas, Indian geography, lineage and currently existing “gotras”/ surnames etc. It sets apart from other texts which at times can be an expression of emotions of the author. The propensity of emotional connection towards the Ishta is often different between the author and reader, which often makes the text “laborious” to read. This text is so “matter of fact and WITHOUT this “laborious” element!!! I have really enjoyed it so much, so far. I know I will have to read it multiple times to actually register these facts laid out in this book.

Another great book by Swami Ji on vedic history and Sri Suktam sadhana!
I have read a few pages, and can't wait to dive deeper into the book. I can personally vouch for the Sadhana as it was one of the Sadhana's recommended to me when I hit a rough patch. I still do the sadhana at least 3 times a week and with this book from Swami Ji, hope to gain a deeper understanding of it :)

Sri suktam, a must for any Sri Vidhya upasak
Brilliantly written and spellbinding, having practiced and chanted Sri Suktam for many many years, only after reading this book does one understand the divine nature and stepwise events that one goes through on the path of Sri vidhya and self realisation. Highly recommend.
