Warhammer 40,000 The Ultimate Guide

This book is great. The minitures are painted impeccability, the photographs are very really sharp, and the text blurbs are informative for a 40K neophyte like myself. Frankly, this book has exceeded my expectations. However, be careful with Amazon shipping. The first copy we got had a busted binding. Amazon promptly replaced it and the second copy was in excellent condition.

This book deserves 5 stars, despite having to return the original for a replacement. The spine/binding has issues, like others have said in other reviews. The first one I received was not damaged in transit at all, was packed fine in a box. But the spine of the book seems to have not been glued properly. The book sounds like an old creaky door when you open it, and when flipping pages. The spine is loose and would not have stood the test of time. I returned the first one and requested a replacement. The replacement has the same symptoms but not as bad. The spine creeks and you can physically move it around when the book is closed, something I am not sure it should be able to do. I can stand it on this one I think. Time will tell. Don't let this make you pass on this book though. It is absolutely gorgeous in every way!! SO MUCH information and incredible miniature photography! So my lore for a WH40K newb (like myself) to ingest!! This book will greatly help me in deciding on which faction and chapters I would like to play in the tabletop game and will guide me in my first steps into the hobby!! Don't pass on this book!! If you can, go to a local hobby shop and see if they have it in stock so you can feel it for defects. If they don't have one then order it on Amazon like me. But be wary of the spine, and replace if need be!! FOR THE EMPEROR!!!

Warhammer 40K: The Ultimate Guide is a delight. It seems accessible to die-hard fans of Warhammer 40K and those new to it. Right off the bat, the quality jumped out at me. The models and artwork were gorgeous—every page brought the Warhammer 40K universe to life with stunning visuals. It was easy to get lost in the details. What I loved was how accessible it felt, striking a great balance between being easy to skim for highlights and detailed enough to dive into the lore without feeling overwhelmed. I have played a few 40K video games and would love to get into the miniatures (but haven't yet) and this book was very helpful in providing more context for the factions I have encountered in the video games. The coverage of the different factions, even the minor ones, seemed thorough. The only downside I can think of is that I wish it had come out sooner when I was younger. But better late than never, right? For me, this book is a no-brainer, especially for the price (I paid $45). It's got everything I wanted: amazing visuals, tons of lore, and it was just plain fun to flip through. I highly recommend it! Hopefully DK releases more books like this for other gaming franchises.

This has some cool info and details. Solid book. Personal issue is that I wish it had warhammer actual artwork instead of pics of miniature figures.

This book is amazing. It’s bigger than I thought and every single page has art and lore. Hundreds of images of professionally painted models. Totally worth it.

I am just getting into Warhammer. This book really helped me get a base grasp of the scope of warhammer. I now feel like I can start more specialized content. Highly recommend!
