I regularly walk the beach to find sea glass. I go to Great Lakes area beaches, which are a mix of sand, and small rocks and shells. I always walk the beach barefoot. So the rocks are certainly not overly abundant or jagged where I go if I can tolerate it in bare feet. I bought these sox to have less sandy feet and a little bit of cushion. I wore them twice, over the course of two days last weekend. Sadly, these did not hold up at all. The bottoms almost wore through completely on the balls of my feet. Considering all I was just walking, and not all that far, and on mostly sand, this was very disappointing. I feel like regular tube sox would have held up better on the bottoms than these did. I did give one extra star because they do fit well and comfortably, and did keep my feet un-sandy. But they won't for long, if a hole wears through after just a couple uses. I purchased two pairs of these, one for me and one for my daughter. My daughter hasn't tried hers yet, but I can't say that I have high hopes that they'll be any different, unless I got a dud. Sorry, I really wanted to love these, but their durability (and therefore value) is completely lacking. :-(

Amazingly comfortable!!!! I wear a 9.5 to size 10 women’s shoe and ordered these in a Medium. Perfect fit! If my feet were any bigger I’d need to go the next size up though. I’ve only worn them around the house thus far, but if they hold up for sand volleyball I’ll be very happy with this purchase.The bottoms are made out of some sort of material. So I’m a bit concerned about wear and tear on the bottoms. But they basically feel like I’m wearing socks.

I wore these at a beach ultimate frisbee tournament. They eventually start filling with sand and you have to take them out to remove the sand, but was still totally worth it. Some of my teammates got big gashes on their feet from rocks and I didn’t get a single scratch. I found it much easier to run in the sand, too.

I have been very happy with my Shocsox and blown away by the customer service. I purchased these for use as a competitive master's rower. I needed something to wear on my feet inside of the rowing shoes. They needed to take the abuse of repeated exposure to salt water (our club rows on the Intracoastal Waterway) that would also protect my feet on oyster beds, etc. These spandex socks have a neoprene sole that provides excellent protection to the bottom of my feet.I initially purchased the large size which was too big for me even though I wear a men's 11 1/2 EEE shoe. Customer service reached out to me (before I contacted them) to see if I was happy with the product. They immediately sent me the medium which fits perfectly. Very satisfied with this company, but as a result of my experience I suggest considering a smaller size than you initially think.

Easy to get on and off (that was my biggest concern) and makes walking in soft sand SO MUCH EASIER... I am an avid beachcomber and find walking in soft sand can kill my knees and back - not anymore! I absolutely LOVE these!!!

Love these! Played in cold, wet sand and my feet stayed pretty darn warm. I used to cut my feet when running around playing sand volleyball, and these protect them nicely. I've only worn them twice so far, but they were more than worth the money.

So far have been super helpful in keeping my feet warm while playing winter sand volleyball. The only thing i don't like is that they do get sand in them, and then it's like having a heavy sock on - but overall its WAY better than my feet freezing and feeling like I am running on blocks.

This is the best sand sock I've tried. I play a lot of beach volleyball, and so far this keeps my feet warm on cold sand days, keeps them cool on hot days, and keeps most sand out (as it has a snug fit around the ankle). I have smaller ankles so this is a plus for me!

Its pretty good. good fit. nice fabric.too bad its not waterproof though
