Tiptree Amazing Preserves
Wow. If you like marmalade or know someone who does this is for you. Comes in it's own mini hamper style box presentation each jar wrapped in bubble so you have fun unwrapping each jar to see what you have. In the box are jars you cannot get in supermarkets in UK. I reckon you'd have to go to delis or independent grocers to find them. And I cannot wait to taste the lemon, lime and Tangerine versions of Marmalade here. I actually bought for my Dad as LOCKDOWN treat as he's mad for marmalade at 94. But we share obviously, so lucky me.Did you know Tiptree grow fruit next to their plant. It's amazing, they have all these ancient English fruits like Quince, Mulberry and all the berries right next to the factory. I guess they import the citrus though. I LOVE their Black or Morello Cherry Jams but I'll give Dad's Lime marmalade a go for sure. Tiptree IS quality with lots of ripe fruit.Let me tell you a story. My Mum had two open jars of Jam in the cupboard. They had been sitting in there for 6 months at least. One was a tiptree Jam, Raspberry probably, knowing Mum, the other was another well known premium brand. The tiptree was totally fine, the other had layer of furry mould on top. I should to my Mum and she said yes, Tiptree is quality and proper Jam, it doesn't mould. Says it all really. Quality ingredients, quality production, quality product. This pack makes superb gift or perfect for Marmalade freaks like my Dad.

Delicious marmalades, however…
I got this a gift for my Mum at Christmas time. I’ve waited to leave a review until now, to give her some time to make a dent into her large marmalade supply (my Dad also got her marmalade for Christmas!).I knew my a mum would like these and she said the “Old Times Marmalade” is delicious and is really enjoying eating it. I was happy to see that there was a lemon marmalade and a lime marmalade in the box. My mum has had lemon marmalade before and is excited to try them from this brand - I’m sure they’ll be delicious. The only thing I will say, is that the box I received it in looked like it had been battered and then dragged through a bush backwards. I do not have photos as I did not have the time! As I was trying to wrap everything the day before Christmas, I, regretfully, did not check the marmalades themselves. The marmalade jars were wrapped in bubble wrap, so I presumed they would have been grand. Therefore, I moved them, still in their bubble wrap, to another box and wrapped the box. This meant that on Christmas Day, my poor mother opened up to find that one of the jars had been completely smashed - likely in transit - and there was marmalade and glass everywhere. It is not what I would’ve wanted and was a bit of a disappointment. On the plus side, it was the whiskey marmalade that had broken, the one marmalade I believe my Mum wouldn’t have been fussed on anyway.Nevertheless, despite the breakage, my Mum was super happy with the marmalades and is enjoying eating her way through them. Mildly jealous myself as I love marmalade too!

Bought as a Special Treat for Myself
I am always looking for really good food. So I bought this selection of marmalades from Tiptree knowing of their excellent well deserved reputation. Six different fullsized jars of top quality marmalade. Love marmalade on toast for breakfast. Parcel brought by charming Amazon delivery man. All looked good until I opened the box. Each jar individually wrapped in bubblewrap. But alas two of the jars completely broken leaving me with lumps of broken glass and a mass of sticky marmalade. The parcel must have been dropped. There were no stickers on the outside saying 'fragile, handle with care'. Would this have made any difference on the treatment given to my special gift to myself.? Also Tiptree do an extensive range of different named varieties of jams I might have enjoyed from time to time. But if two out of six jars are broken - what is the point? Very distressing.
