Excellent craftsmanship, definitely a pen in your collection.
I've ordered twice because there is a scratch on the first one, but the second one is perfect.I think Staedtler fountain pens are somehow underrated. Not sure why. I got a bunch of urbes, coriums and resina. None of them disappointed me. They are all well-made and precise. This one is definitely a masterpiece. The pen is quite heavy so it's absolutely not a EDC pen. it comes with a beautiful presentation box, a certificate with the serial number of pen and the manual. The pen and the package give you a luxury feelings. I am so happy to have it as part of my collections. It writes buttery smooth, no scratch at all including reverse writing. The M nib writes a bit thick like between Medium and Broad, which is good for signature.Oh one more thing, I was confused if there's engraving (Louis XIV and J.S Staedtler) on the body end and the cap since you will not see that on the product picture (however, if you browse Japanese site, it does). And I found it does when I got the pen.

Fabulous pen at outrageous price
This is one of the best fountain pens I have ever used - I've experience of the high end of Pelikan, Visconti, ST Dupont, Montegrappa, etc. While heavy, the pen is well balanced and it's easy to write pages at a time. The finish is immaculate, as befits the price and the leather portrait wrapped around the barrel is elegant (although not discrete). However, the best part is the nib. This is amazing - smooth, flexible and juicy. Writing is an absolute joy. Unlike some expensive Italian pens, Staedtler has immaculate quality control and I've never had a bad nib from them. This is one of the very best. Ignoring the price, this is an amazing pen and a joy to use. But, the price... £2000 is outrageous. Yes, the parts are quality, the writing experience sublime and I know that craftsmen invested significant time to create this. But £2000?I got it for less than a quarter of that and its still too expensive. However, this is in the range of some of the cheaper Mont Blanc. And it blows them away. If you want to spend crazy money on a pen, don't even think about Mont Blanc - none write as well as this (or a nice pelikan, visconti, montegrappa, etc.).Great pen. Just expensive.
