Will continue to repurchase
I love this Vitamin C! It performs as well as more expensive vitamin C serums, its such great quality. I haven't had any issue with premature oxidization. It smells a little bacon-y but I know that is from the ferulic acid which is helping with efficacy. My skin looks brighter, less dull, and feels great. It's a watery texture so its a little weird to apply but still easy. I would definitely recommend this Vitamin C Serum to anyone looking for a good morning serum.

Best product EVER
This is the single most incredible skin care product i’ve ever tried. After a single use i could notice a difference in my skin! If you’re thinking it’s worth it, let this be your sign that YES absolutely. I will say it has a bit of a smell. I describe it as more of a herbal medicinal smell but hot dog water is weirdly accurate as well. But i think is well worth it. Everyone that knows me has made a comment about how nice my skin looks.

Not Bad But Not For Me
I have been using this for a few months now and feel that I can give a good review. First this is a high percentage of Vitamin C so I do not recommend it for someone who is new to using Vitamin C. I am not a newbie by any means and this still irritated my skin a little until it got used to it. I started with every couple of days until I was able to work up to every day. It's effective but I will be honest and say it does smell like hot dog water so if you can get past that then it's a decent Vitamin C serum but I think I will go back to using Roc Vitamin C. I just prefer the thicker serum and it was gentler on my skin.

serum-great; pump-not so much
The serum is light in texture and absorbs into the skin easily with very minimal stickiness. Reviewers who likened the scent to hot dog water were spot on, but it's not a strong scent and fades quickly after applying. I do notice a luminescence on my skin immediately after applying, which is nice. I think it's one of the better Vitamin C serums I've tried and is priced competitively. The pump dispenser is problematic though. The pump itself leaked a bit under the cap during shipment. And I notice additional leaking under the cap when I shake the serum up before dispensing. It also dispenses more serum then needed.

No awful scent.
I have become a fan of Dr. S. Ellis’ products. My skin has been looking brighter. The only thing I was concerned about was the change in color. Instead of being clear it had a yellow color. Hopefully this has not altered its use.

Prequel brand is quality skincare
I like several of the products from Prequel (Dr. Sam Ellis). I've been using Vitamin C for decades now (in my 50s but skincare obsessed since I was 19) and C,E Ferulic serums for several years. Unlike the last brand I used (which worked well, too), this one does NOT smell like "hot dog water" (Angie from Hot and Flashy quote). I think that Vitamin C helps with skin protection for sure. I've gotten compliments for years about having beautiful skin and I really think the early, consistent use of Vitamin C definitely is a big reason for that. The packaging is really good on this (dark, heavy-feeling bottle) and it pumps out easily. As with all Vitamin C serums I've used, it is pure liquid, so it soaks in quickly. I'm a Subscribe and Save purchaser of this product, so I definitely believe it a good, effective C, E Ferulic serum.

Poor packaging
The product itself is fine though oxidizes quickly. My big quip is with the packaging. Once the pump won’t dispense any more product you think ok this must be finished. Wrong! Before tossing it, on a whim I decided to unscrew the top and see if anymore product was in there. A whole bunch came pouring out. I was so dismayed not to mention I’d made a complete mess. There was definitely about 2 or 3 weeks of vitamin C still inside that the pump couldn’t touch. And my unscrew and pour method was not ideal for dispensing these last weeks of product. I don’t know if the straw needs to be longer or if there’s a better fix but the current packaging doesn’t go well with this liquidy slightly oily product. It needs to be a dropper or something else. I won’t buy this again. This exact thing happened to me with their redness relief too.

Gentle and Effective Vitamin C, Tricky Pump Design
Prequel's Skin Lucent-C serum has been a great addition to my morning skincare routine. My skin tolerates it very well with no irritation. The texture is thin and light, so it layers very nicely under moisturizer or sunscreen without pilling. I’ve noticed my skin looks smoother and a bit firmer after regular use. I’m giving it four stars mainly because of the packaging and scent. Even a tiny press on the pump releases too much product, and the smell isn’t great. The smell does fade quickly after applying, but it’s not pleasant. Still, the formula itself is impressive, with L-ascorbic acid, ferulic acid, and niacinamide working together to brighten and even out my skin tone. I will put up with the smell because it's such a great product. If you’re looking for a gentle yet effective Vitamin C serum that delivers glow without irritation, this one is definitely worth trying. Just go easy on the pump. Also, when you are trying a Vitamin serum for the first time, start off using it 2-3 times a week to see how your skin reacts before using on a daily basis. :)
