Great book, frightening scenario!
Well written and researched, a fast paced read around the events leading up to and after a nuclear strike on the United States looked at from the perspective of the governments of the three countries involved.. A great reminder of how fragile the idea of nuclear deterrent really is. In the deepest art of your heart you know the outcome but as you read you are hanging on every word ad hoping against hope. It's an excellent read.

Be prepared for a disturbing read.
This book isn't for the faint of heart. It's a chilling, meticulously researched journey into the unthinkable: a full-blown nuclear war. Annie Jacobsen doesn't shy away from the horrifying realities, taking us step-by-step through the potential consequences, from the initial blasts to the lingering radiation sickness. It's a sobering reminder of the destructive power we wield and the devastating impact it would have on humanity, with no winners and only losers. Here's what resonated most with me:Vivid Scenario: The book's strength lies in its realistic portrayal. It's not sensationalized fiction, but a plausible walk-through of events, making the horror all the more impactful.Urgency for Peace: Jacobsen's message is clear: nuclear war is a threat we can't ignore. This book serves as a wake-up call for world leaders and all of us to strive for peace and disarmament.Well-Written and Accessible: Despite the heavy subject matter, the book is engaging and easy to follow. It doesn't require a scientific background to understand the terrifying consequences.A Few Caveats:Emotionally Challenging: Be prepared for a disturbing read. The book's honesty about the potential devastation can be emotionally draining. Not for Everyone: If you're prone to anxiety, this book might be overwhelming.Overall:"Nuclear War" is a powerful and important book. It's a stark reminder of the dangers of nuclear weapons and a call to action for a peaceful future. While it may be unsettling, it's a must-read for anyone concerned about our world's fate.
