So cute!
Got this for my in laws that live on a lake in northern WI. They loved it! The one thing a bit wrong with the book was the one page that says "Good night Bemidji" doesn't have a picture on that page, it was blank, which was a bit weird. However, for me that was fine bc I changed that page to say goodnight to my in laws lake and taped a picture there. So, it worked out.

AWESOME book, used book came with more wear and tear than expected
I absolutely LOVE this book. I had bought it for a nephew a few years ago and it was his favorite book. I was excited to get it for my own little one. I purchased from an independent seller to support them, and bought it in "very good" condition. Perhaps my understanding of very good is off, but it came with a lot more wear and tear than I would expect from a used book labeled as "very good". The upper right corner of the board book is frayed and seperated, and there is a lot of wear along the spine so the pages feel loose when reading. I'm disappointed, because I saved very little money for buying it used, and this is a total family favorite that I would like to last for a long time.

My new go to gift!
Grew up in Minnesota and got this as a gift from a neighbor for our newborn. This is my new go to gift for showers for anyone I know in Minnesota. Great illustrations and just too cute!

A big improvement
Niche audience I guess, but this is a substantial improvement over the original. Better rhymes, funnier, and awesomely Minnesotan.

Very, very Minnesotan.
There may not be a lot of redeeming literary value in Goodnight Loon, but as a hilarious ode to Minnesota, it works quite well. I loved all the details and couldn't wait to share the book with some friends with whom we've camped multiple times. I know that they, too, will appreciate the ticks and loons and spruce and moose. The book does a good job with "show, don't tell." It doesn't contain the annoying "these are the charming things people in Minnesota say, and this is the delightful accent they use" explanations that longer, cutesier books tend to feature. It's simple and doesn't wax poetic on, for instance, "Minnesota nice."Goodnight Loon is suitable for a wide range of ages; the style mimics Goodnight Moon well. I highly recommend this book.

A book for those Minnesota people.
I did not read the description and didn’t realize it was a book for the Minnesota types. Cute as heck, but came across the word “Bemidji” and immediately googled it. Apparently it is some mystical city in the fare state of Minnesota, I then turned the book around and saw Minnesota slapped right on it. Again, it’s a good book, it talks about ticks and canoes, just wish I payed more attention before buying it. I’m not complaining but hope this will help if people are buying this because it’s a generic, non-location specific book, which of course it is not.

Love it! We've read this probably 100 times. Not necessarily for everyone though
My wife and I have bought a lot of books for our son but this has to be one of our favorites. The book is really well done. I like it better than the original that it's based on. Just a warning, though : it's not for everyone. It's basically one huge inside joke for Minnesotans so if you don't have friends or family there or don't spend a lot of time there, you probably won't like it.
