The internet has changed the way I think about many electronic items and my dehumidifier is one of them. It stopped working during the summer. The unit would start up, the fan would run, but no water was appearing in the tank. in the Pre-internet days, i'd have to throw it away as there are no repair shops near me. Present day, I googled dehumidifier problems, saw that the starter capacitor can be the problem as the compressor requires a lot of juice, ordered this one for the price of the gas it would take to get to my local home store, installed it and I'm good to go.

I ordered one of these because our motor died and fried the cap. This should have been the perfect replacement as it shows it is 1.75" on the diagrams. It works fine but did not fit the factory bracket as the true dimension is closer to 1.5". So if you need a cap that is 1-3/4", this item will not work, it is marked wrong.
