Refurbishing or maintaining a T140? You need this book.
The T140 still represents the best overall value in the Meridan Triumph model series even with their shortcomings. There are still complete machines with reasonable mileage on the clock, representing opportunities to get into Classic British Motorcycling. The trick to owning the Bonneville and Tiger variants, is to understand how they are assembled to help you learn how to work on them within your abilities. "Triumph T140 Owners You Need This Book "
If you own a Triumph Bonneville T140 this book will be invaluable to you. I have owned my 1977 Bonny since new and pretty much have done all my own repairs and maintaining. I have Haynes, Clymer and the factory manual, but this is the most straightforward repair / restoration book I've ever used. Bonnevilles did change over the years...but he covers the basics with text and photographs that will help any Bonny T140 owner. I am putting my Triumph back on the road after a 5 year hiatus and I found this book entirely by chance....you will not go wrong purchasing this book and adding it to your Triumph Bonneviile Library.

Unbelievably Good
The combination of good photos and accompanying text is like watching a video of a complete restoration - but without having to rewind and find a spot if you want to recheck something. So glad I got this book as I begin my restoration project.

Not enough details
This book is helpfull for restoration of motorcycles in general, but it misses all the relevant details, and hints and tricks of restoring Triumph twin motorcycles like the covered 140 model. The pre 78-twins have ten secrets about every little bolt mounted on them :-)If you really want to overhaul a Bonneville 140 then you require the parts book, the workshop manual and beside a lot of information of somebody who knows this bikes well or you deep investigation of the one and only Triumph forum.

Best purchase I made
This turned out to be the best purchase of the project. Coupled with the factory manual, it told me all I needed. So much better than Haynes.

Not comprehensive enough
What I didn't like about the book was that the author didn't delve deep enough into most component repairs. Most of the time he just says that that part looks ok so it is left alone. A restoration guide should go into all restoration scenarios, not just cover the easy bits. A good workshop manual is better value.
