Worked well in freezing temps
Passed our first hard freeze of the year with functioning water. It was easy to install and looks good as well! No leaks, sealed well, perfect height, and lever moves easily.

Good hydrant
Solid hydrant. Installation is easy. For my area 1' bury depth is well below any frost line. If you're going from PVC into this hydrant get a 90 degree NPT brass elbow to thread on the bottom of the hydrant and set that on a brick or rock in the bottom of a hole that's about 18" deep. With the hydrant on top of the brick or rock it should be about 1' bury depth. For the PVC to brass connection get really good PTFE tape (Like Blue Monster or some thicker equivalent than the dumpy white cheap stuff) and make two wraps on a 3/4" NPT PVC fitting. Hand tighten that in then give it one full turn with pliers. After that it won't leak. I also added a 1/8" 90 degree elbow to the drain port then filled the hole with pea gravel up to that drain fitting then covered with dirt. I put a 4' piece of 1/2" angle iron behind the hydrant and drove that down until only 18" was above ground level then used galvanized wire to secure the hydrant to the angle iron for stability. Many reviews mention this thing leaks, and if it does then give the brass nut on the top plunger assembly a half turn tighter. One of mine was leaking and this solved the leak immediately and it hasn't returned.

I’m convinced.
I’m rating it at four stars since I don’t know if it will hold up overtime or if repair or replacement parts are available. Came with installation instructions and adjustment instructions if needed. It seems to function well and I verified that water drains out of the bottom like it’s supposed to before I buried it to finish the installation.. I recommend using a 5 gallon bucket around the pipe filled with gravel and holes in the bottom of the bucket to prevent the wee hole from getting clogged up, which will ensure long operation. Seems to be a good value for the money.

Freeze proof and so much easier to use! Buy the right length for you!
If you can replace a regular water bib then this would be fairly simple! Remember to put plenty of rock under it for drainage because everytime you turn it off it drains itself! Carefully drive a T post or stiff metal rod besides it then attach to bib for stabilization if needed. No freezing and so easy to connect hose now! Youtube has several videos on installing if you need help!

Leaks water when on, and when off.
Fail, zero stars. Oh, wait, the review won't let me submit zero stars. What a great concept. But, it does Not work. That is to say, when there is a garden hose on it, water sprays out the top while it is turned on. Two months after installation it started leaking from the spout... while the handle is completely turned off!! Now I'm wondering how long it's been leaking out the weep hole at the bottom before the leak got bad enough that the weep hole couldn't drain out fast enough to keep up. This installation was a lot of work, and I am forced to cut off the water supply to the hydrant in order to avoid wasting water. A lot of water! The idea behind this product is great, but it leaks like a sieve. I purchased two of these at around the same time but not quite set up for the second install. Both will go straight to the scrap yard and I will figure out a different plan to get water to my two projects. Zero stars, total failure. Very upsetting.

Great buy
I checked the price at Lowe’s and Home Depot. For just the spout it would’ve costed me $75 and that’s not counting the pipe that goes down to the ground. It is a great bye and they work good. I’ve had all of the ones I’ve purchased installed. You will not be wasting your money if you buy them and have them installed.
