Bosmere P045 Premier 2 Seat Bench Seat Green Cover

The Bosmere P045 Premiere 2 seat bench cover is well made from a good closely woven fabric with a coated backing, and definitely not a fragile plastic sheet. My  bench  is in a sheltered spot out of direct sunlight for most of the day so this cover is ideal to protect it from damp and leaves etc when we are not enjoying the shady view of the garden. I will report back in a few months time on how well it copes.The cover is significantly wider than the 122cm wide bench, and while this makes dropping it over the bench a lot easier it can also allow it to flap, and the four leg ties are required if there is any wind. The heights along the backrest and at the front of the arms are correct to match the bench, such that the cover is less than a centimetre from the ground all around, but still leaving a small gap along the back and in the corners for the necessary ventilation. Finding a cover the exact size is almost impossible, however this one is a good compromise and it works well for my bench in the sheltered spot.The four ties are lengths of braided cord, the two ends of each are passed through the spring collet to secure them. I threaded each cord through its relevant pair of eyelets from the inside of the cover then through the collet, and then put security knots on the ends to a) prevent them from unravelling, and b) prevent the collet from slipping off and becoming lost on a windy damp dark night (in an optimistic attempt to circumvent Murphy's Law). The bench is light enough to lift one leg at a time to slip through the loop inside each corner of the cover, and then the collet allows a very quick tightening of the loop.The bag it is supplied in is also well made with a strong Velcro fastening and is ideal for storing the cover when not in use.

I purchased this product to cover and protect our new teak bench. However, we were disappointed to find that rainwater penetrated the fabric in numerous places and left the bench marked.I checked the product description on the Bosmere Products website, it clearly stated that the cover was made of breathable polyester fabric and was 100% waterproof. I telephoned Bosmere Products and queried this with them, they informed me that all their bench covers were 100% waterproof and said that when the cover was returned from Amazon they would examine it. They suggested I emailed photographs of the bench, which I did.They did not acknowledge or respond to my email. I sent a second email and asked if they wished to take the opportunity to respond before I reviewed the product, but after nearly four weeks they have not had the courtesy to reply. However, I have noticed that they have removed the statement '100% waterproof' from the product description on their website.I have subsequently purchased a PVC backed cover which has performed well and was considerably cheaper.

The bench it covers is situated diagonally between the east side of a bungalow and the south side of a single story extension. It had been re waterproofed once or twice and generally washed once a year. Reason I bought a replacement was due to the exposed part having got ingrained with dirt and given its age not worth cleaning. NB the new one cost a £1 less than the old one.

Looks well made , have just put in situ so will wait to see how they wear
