The Mediterranean Dish: Simply Dinner: 125 Easy Mediterranean Diet-Inspired Recipes to Eat Well and Live Joyfully: A Cookbook Review: WOW! So much flavor! - I had to come on here and write a review after seeing so many negative remarks about he number of ingredients. SO, this is my take... Yes, there are lots of spices used. This is what makes the dishes so flavorful. I can find all of the spices here on desertcart or at my local grocer. And while some of them are not traditional American spices, trust me, they are worth trying. Sumac and Za'atar! Amazing. I gather all the ingredients on the counter (a trick my mom taught me) then measure out the spices into small bowls so they are ready to go. This small step makes most of the recipes fairly easy, quick, and low-stress to make. I love this cookbook! Am using it at least once a week and often 2-3 times a week. Great salads!
She has great salad recipes. Others are good too but those stand out to me. I like her first coookbook better- there is a great panzanella salad in there. I use a lot of her salad dressing recipes on other salads too. Most recipes are very easy to follow. Most ingredients are easy to find as well. I would recommend this cookbook.

Magnificent Meditteranean
This incredible book features some delicious recipes that we tend to make over and over š I do try at least two new recipes each week to make sure I eventually get through the whole book. We like to rate our meals from 1-5 to see if we want it again, and my British meat and potatoes hubby has given many of them a 6āļø! We're older so we try to eat healthier, but I still love my sweets, of which there are plenty of healthier options! It is a beautifully illustrated and detailed book that not only prepares your pantry, but explains tips and tricks for cooking! If I didn't already own it, I would definitely buy again! If Suzy writes another one, I'll buy that one also to add to the two I have. Eating Meditteranean food is exciting, and the spices you use are unforgettable. This book will change the way you eat!

Great cookbook to start on your Mediterranean journey
Got this cookbook (and its predecessor) for my wife, as she wanted to start eating healthier and felt looking at some Mediterranean recipes might be an interesting way to go. She has only had the book a short while, but has already filled it with bookmarks and dogeared pages, marking recipes tried and yet to try. Not having experienced too much of this kind of cooking, we are finding the flavors and recipe ideas a fun experience. Not everything has come out exactly the way we expected the first time, but overall we are really happy with the book. The recipes do call for a couple of exotic seasonings, but nothing that can't be found at prices consistent with everyday seasonings in good grocery stores or here, off Amazon. These are not super complicated recipes requiring tons of specialized skills, and the basic ingredients are familiar, easily obtainable ones (beans, common vegetables, fish, poultry, etc.) so anyone with some experience in the kitchen should be able to enjoy. Plus, the author gives some interesting background on the "Mediterranean diet" concept (being Egyptian, it's not a "diet" to her, its the way she was brought up) that should inspire readers to explore the flavors and recipes she shares. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend to others looking to add some adventure and healthy ingredients to their diet.

Most dishes are VERY spicy
The book has a nice introduction, interesting to read. The recipes are not purely Mediterranean, however, in the way that many people think: Italian and Greek. These recipes are a serious fusion with middle-Eastern recipes, and some African twists as well. I have tried a few, and loved them. BUT, you have to invest in some new and unusual spices and such that you may never have heard of, like Sumac, and Ras el hanout, besides the tons of fresh herbs. The caution is that MANY of the recipes have a hot and spicy character. Even in the photos you can see most dishes slathered with spices. You can tone them down accordingly, of course. I only wish more authentically Italian and Greek recipes were featured. They are definitely in the minority. Regardless, I have every intention of trying more of the recipes. The two I tried already were great. But they were NOT fast, or easy. Lots of prep. The pan-seared red snapper was a lot of prep, and work, and time, and clean-up. It stated that you could use āany thin white fish filletsā, so I used cod. It fell completely apart when I served it, but yes, it tasted good. I made the berry compote, and paired it with brie and crusty bread, and it was delicious. Not too hard at all, that one. But overall, this is not a go-to book for quick dinners, or after a long day at work. And you need to go out with a list and find a number of things you never heard of before you get started.

Exciting recipes
The book Iāve been looking for. Iāve always wanted to focus on more Mediterranean recipes and when I saw this I knew I had to get my hands on it. And it hasnāt disappointed! Iāve had it for about 2 weeks and Iāve tried a few recipes with more on my to do list. The recipes are flavorful, colorful, and so much fun to put together. My first recipes I did was the mushroom gozlene and oh my so so good, and I loved that she included the tortilla recipe for it. I also did the avocado hummus, didnāt even know you could make something so interesting and easy!! I also did the one garlic chicken meatballs and honestly canāt wait to make it again! This is definitely a book with recipes Iāll use over and over again! Thank you š
