Tips for machine embroidering dish towels
Tips for machine embroiderers--My plan for these dish towels was to machine-embroider a recipe for snowball cookies and then use the embroidered towels as gift wrap for small tins of these cookies. OK--I didn't want to have stabilizer on the back of a dish towel as it would be in the way, so I used a soluble stabilizer on the back. Then I was discouraged as the threads kept knotting up. I decided to try a piece of water soluble stabilizer on the top as well as one on the back. Problem solved! The next five towels were perfect. Of course after machine washing and drying the towels, I had to iron the ones for gift wrap simply because that was going to be the use. I would never iron a dish towel otherwise! So, these towels far exceeded my expectations for flour sack dish towels. In the future, I will buy these again rather than going with the Dollar Tree versions. Oh yes, the little hanging loop in the corner of each towel is a plus.It may be that with a conventional embroidery design, not one with very small font embroidery, I wouldn't have needed the top layer of soluble stabilizer, but I won't take that chance with future embroidery. I may order another machine embroidery design for a different cookie recipe and use it next year now that I know that these towels work so well for that. They are really good little towels for flour sack towels.Oh, the dimensions of the recipe in the photograph are 4.9" by 6.1".

Does not fold right.
I washed these as soon as I got them. After they were washed and dried, they were no longer rectangular in shape. I made some cotton towels many years ago from a bolt of fabric and found that the cotton cloth needed to be washed first before the towel shape is cut from the cloth.

OUTSTANDING QUALITY & CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
As you can see from the picture, these are the perfect flour sack towels for embroidery. They are the highest quality and the generous 33" x 38" size makes them even better. My 84 year old mother stitched the towels shown and everyone in our family looks forward to receiving them as gifts. I contacted customer service and requested that they bring back the 33" x 38" size and they assured me that they would make every effort to do so. Other flour sack towels cannot hold a candle to these. Flour sack towels are not easy to find and the quality of these towels cannot be beat. They are easy to clean and are excellent for drying dishes. I wash them in hot water and hang them to dry, which makes them even more absorbent. Thank you, Casa Decors!!! Looking forward to ordering the 33" x 38" size very soon!

GREAT quality fabric, poor cut.
First, let me say that I have never seen such beautiful fabric for embroidery. I've never seen such a beautiful fabric for dish towels either. The thread count has got to be 40 threads over the average fabric. I would use this for a dress or shirt easily. I am really looking forward to some enjoyable sewing.Okay, that out of the way, the critique. The cut is pretty terrible. Not one out of the dozen is close to square. I cringed with every towel I tried to fold square to iron and place the iron-on on the center. I am quite the perfectionist and I just wanted to cry about it so I had to just stop looking. Stop trying...it wasn't in the cards for any of them to be square.Lastly, some were the same size but four are at least one inch larger than the rest. So, in the end, I would break down my review this way; 5 stars for the fabric and 3 stars for the cut, equaling the overall rating at 4 stars. So, if you can overlook the poor cut, get some of these towels for your embroidering! You'll LOVE the quality of this fabric.

Best quality flour sack towels
I have used flour sack towels for years. I cook and bake quite a bit, and this type of towel is what I use to cover dough as it is rising and always hang one from my apron to wipe my hands. I subject them to pretty hard use and after a while they just wear out. These towels, however, are of a vastly superior quality to any that I have purchased before. They are actually far too nice for the work they will be doing for me! The biggest selling point for me was the hang loop, but now that I actually own a set I think I'm addicted. They are very fine and the hems are impeccably stitched. Other reviewers seem to use these for embroidery and they would probably be excellent for that purpose as well. HIGHLY recommend.

33.333% defective rate - Terrible!
I purchase these based on the reviews stating the "great quality". I washed, dried and pressed these upon arrival. Out of 12 towels, 4 were grossly out of square; that's a 33.333% defective rate! That is terrible! I bought these for two purposes: To use as dish towels (10 of them), and (2) to be used for making sachets. They barely dry my dishes but it may be that they are too new yet. Another issue that bugs me is, there is no country-of-manufacture label on these towels or the packaging, nor in the ad. My guess is... China...

Absolutely great flour sack towels!!
These are beautiful flour sack towels. I have purchased similar towels from over a dozen different retailers and these are by far the best I have found. The hems (on all 4 sides) are beautifully hemmed, every towel in the set I bought is actually square and the weight is very nice -- heavier than most. I have embroidered 8 so far and the designs look great. I had purchased some towels just before these and was very unhappy with the stitch-outs so I tried the same two designs on the Casa Decors towels and the stitch-out was perfect!I hope Casa Decors will continue to provide such high quality towels -- I'm about to buy a second set now and plan to reorder from them for any future purchases.

They have more than doubled the price !
I like the product, however, I want to reorder the towels for gifts, and the price went from $40.00 to over $90.00! Not cool on their part.
