A very good and engrossing read

Great flow of storyline. What could have been painted well. The suspense is captivating Wish there was a follow on.

The book is quite engaging and fast. It is about a police detective who investigates a murder in an alternate history where Hitler has won World War 2. The author creates the fictional nazi Germany well.

Robert Harris, you beauty! I have read 5 novels of Mr.Harris and I am rapidly trying to read the others because he is one author who gives you everything. From the Nazis, to republic Rome on the brink of destruction, he has given us all and Fatherland, by far, with its sheer splendor, horror and knitting, is the best of the lot amongst the gems produced by Mr.Harris. A 20th anniversary reprint alone tells us how popular this book is. I would suggest every avid reader of historical fiction to read this.

Probably the most thoroughly researched and highly imagined book of Robert Harris I have read and shall ever do.One must certainly read this. Not because it's a review but because of the sheer chill it leaves behind, had the Germany of Hitler still existed. The Eastern Bloc with Iron curtain had its limits, this would not.

The big twist is not that big a twist if you already know what Nazis did during the war to the Jews. I did like the alternate history but ultimately it felt a bit flat, the story itself is well told.

My boyfriend wanted this book since January, But when we ordered it with COD option, there was a problem with the delivery and we didn't received it. So thought of gifting it on his birthday. He loved it.

Great Book!! Truly a masterpieceby Robert Harris!! An alternate history thriller was never written this well!This was the first novel by Robert Harris I've read! Now I'm extremely anxious to read his other works!!No words! The book left me speechless!
