you can't use your lens cap while it's on
you can't put on or remove your lens cap while the lens hood is on. kind of a pain to remove it every time you want to put the lens cap on. maybe this is something i should have known before i bought it or maybe it's not the right lens hood for me. in any case i don't think i'll be using it too often if i need to put it on and take it off every time i put away my camera.

It's important to note that this is a screw-in hood ...
It's important to note that this is a screw-in hood and not the bayonet-style (like Voigtlander's much more expensive LH-8). You won't be able to put your lenscap on with the hood fitted and it may make things awkward with rotating filters (like a polarizer). It's up to you whether this would bother you or not...

May be good for 28 mm lens
Still causes corner cut off at wide 24 mm

Wow! Affordable and of good quality!
I can honestly say that I did not expect this good of quality, since the price was so affordable! If anything I expected something that would be cheap, work well for a bit, and ultimately be a disposable but easily replaced, lens hood. Turns out that it is going to last me much longer than I anticipated! I own the straight round hood from this manufacturer, as well as the square hood, and this tilted hood (all vented), and they have all withstood abuse in a bag, being bumped up against corners, packed and unpacked, etc.I have to say that I am very impressed with the complete lack of wear that they show, and the way the matte black paint job stays clean and fingerprint free, even with regular handling!

Causes vignetting wide open on CV 35mm 1.2 II
I kept this product because it was cheap--but I should have returned it, but I didnt notice its flaws until I had owned it for a month or two. The product fits and it works as advertised most of the time--but not all the time. So I dont leave it attached.I know that hoods are important sometimes, but this one causes *slight* vignetting wide open on the CV 35mm 1.2 II lens. Just a warning. You only notice it wide open

Excellent lens hood option
Excellent lens hood option for my Voigtlander Nokton 35/1.2 II lens. It is a metal hood which fits smoothly into the 52 mm filter thread of the lens. It provides sufficient protection of the front lens. Best is that the lens cap fits also on the inside of this lens hood - no need to detach the hood to put the lens cap on. Highly recommended.

If you need a hood for your Canon 40mm, this is the one!
Make a lens cap that is easy to use with this & I would easily give it two more stars! The metal construction is great. It is a little awkward to get the cover on & off though, but not a deal breaker.

lense hood for the voigtlander 35mm f1.2
can believe the well made Quality for this money cost $7-8, the original Voigtlander 35mm f1.2 will be $109 with the name on that ,that is the only different I can see.
