Simple and to the point- great lesson
I have 2 children in elementary school and I think it is so important for them to stand up for them selves as well as respect others thoughts and ideas. Everything is so clicky these days especially with social media and its important for children to know its ok to stand up for them selves and treat others the way they want to be treated. I will be purchasing other books from this author.

Cute but not what I was looking for
The description made me think the book taught more healthful eating habits. It’s all so relative,I know. I am looking for a book with my daughter in mind who is on a very strict gall bladder supporting diet. She is having a hard time being different especially in school. The book highlights Kale standing alone and doing things his own way. I appreciate how the book highlights individuality but I was looking for something more focused on health. The image of all 3 kids having sandwiches and the kind of sandwich was the big difference, turned me off. I can see this helping kids just going into school.

This book is similar to I Like Myself, but with more detail and other subtle messages. A fantastic book for the little ones about acknowledging what their peers like, while what they like sometimes differs. The underlying tone sends the message that it is great to be yourself, if even you are different. The illustrations work perfectly with the storyline and bring in diversity and other areas, such as disability. There is also an illustration that shows friends being supportive when something did not work out. Love the message to try again if you fail.

Great way to talk to your young kids about peer pressure
My 6 year old loves this book. It's a great way for us to talk about how to stay true to your own values and likes, and not let others influence you - without being too preachy or somber. He totally gets the concept from this entertaining and simple story of Kale. We often talk about the fact that sometimes you will like what your friends do, and other times you won't and both are okay. Especially since my son is very into dance and hip hop while many of his friends are not. He embraces his passions with confidence and this book reinforces that. Thanks for writing this book!

Great message, horrible illustrations
I think it has a great message for young school age kids. But illustrations are horrible and I had to change the name of the character, his name in Kale. And it repeats it a lot. It is repetitive, but it gets the message across.

Great tool for parents to encourage individuality!
a positive way to encourage your child to be themselves. Not everyone has to like the same things, but you can still be friends. Thank you to the author for these thoughtful, fun books! we love Kale :-)

Good book!
My son loves that he likes art better than gym cause he likes painting. He also likes that he trades his snacks. That’s all he has to say. I love the book as it validates independent thinking and not always having to like what everyone else likes. Great book!

What a disappointment! Terrible!
This book is terrible. It might be ok for a toddler but not 6yr old! Also the boy likes to play golie when others play football?!?!?! How is this diffrent?! It's all football! My boy is diffrent because he doesn't like football, this book doesn't help with that at all! I can't even express how overpriced it is. I'd expect that sort of book for no more that £3! Doesn't deserve 1 star either.

Very good book and polite author.
I like the book that teaches children to keep their uniqueness at school, which I deem is a vital quality of being a human.
