The Pacific Crest Trail: Hiking the PCT from Mexico to Canada

Great trekking companion
Everyone is a critic, but this author did his best to relate his experiences and to make this handy book a nice trekking guide for those of us who need it. Too many trekkers write about their personal experiences and the reasons that caused them to venture out on the PCT, that's nice to read, but some people prefer a PCT book like this one. This book is different, it is small with a protective cover, lightweight, and can easily be snugged away in your pack somewhere. This is a good book to read and it can help you prepare yourself for what to expect on the PCT, less the roaming animals and mother nature. The binding is stiff like any other new book, but after a few reads, you'll break it in. I recommend buying this book.

Great compact guide without feeling overwhelmed
This book deserves more attention from upcoming thru/ section hikers of the pct. It's small and compact, comes with a nice waterproof cover, and gives a good amount of information without overwhelming the greenhorn. As someone who is new to thru hiking, I did also get the yogis trail manual, but personally it was so much information all over the place and felt overwhelming. Plus the maps they correspond to are very detailed yes, but also confusing as there's no key and as a beginner extremely hard to understand what certain things meant without a reference key. I'm sure this is because I'm a beginner, but I'm guessing .there are lots of beginners out there, and this book, (Brian's) was easier for me to follow, as well as being compact enough to bring along. But moreover has a detailed key in the beginning describing what things on the map are. Thank you Brian!

Very Detailed and useful for Non-American Pacific Crest Trail Thru-Hikers
Very Detailed and useful for Non-American Pacific Crest Trail Thru-Hikers. I found information in here that is normally left out with the American equivalent. Very recommended for planning a Thru-Hike of The PCT
