Review: Still a Great Game - I loved this game when it first came out and it still keeps me preoccupied for hours. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars would be that I get so engrossed that I lose track of time and may miss a few hours of sleep. However, that is not the game's flaw so it gets 5. I guess I also get a bit frustrated that my roller coasters are not as "intense" as the ones made by the game makers, but the intensity ratings the coasters get are so high that my guests won't ride them [i.e. I made a straight up and down hill coaster that turned straight into the station and its intensity rating was higher than the shuttle loop (a car is launched through a loop goes up a hill and comes back to the station] the game makers made]. Note to those buying this game. It is an older game, so video/sound quality is not what newer games are. The characters and scenery are pixilated, esp. if you play on a larger screen. So if you're looking for awesome 3D effects and whatnot, this is not the game for you. If you are looking to use your brain to build an awesome theme park (and maybe make some terrible rides that "accidently" endanger your guests) all while watching a budget, this is a fantastic game. Review: Nostalgia + compatibility with Windows 10 - It's OG Roller Coaster Tycoon, how can I give it anything less than 5 stars?! I was so excited to get this game, but I was a little nervous that it wouldn't work on Windows 10. Fortunately it worked perfectly for me! I didn't even have to troubleshoot or anything, it seems to be completely compatible. However, in case you don't have the same experience I did, I did do some research prior to purchasing the game. If it isn't working, there are a couple options (I have had to do this with other applications). Try right-clicking the icon either on your desktop or on the Start menu and click "Run as administrator." How-To Geek has an article called "How to Make Old Programs Work on Windows 10" that has other, more in-depth/ complicated options to troubleshoot as necessary, but running a program as an admin has worked for me.

Childhood Game Still Great
I have loved this game since I was a child! I gave away my old copy when I was littler, so I decided to buy this one, and it's even better! The one I had as a kid had 3 discs, and this only has two, so it's easier to handle. The game downloaded easily onto my laptop, which is Windows 10. The game works great, just as when I played as a kid. The game encourages creativity, thought and strategy. It's surprisingly an educational game as well, for it teaches you about how to handle finances, and keep the consumer population content. I'm very pleased with this purchase, it's a must-buy!

What a rip!
Just bought the Gold Collection RCT for PC's. The disc will not run in Windows 10, stating that a file is corrupted, so now I have an non-returnable, unusable product....WHAT A GREAT BUY! Tried accessing a couple of web sites for support and that appears to be nonexistent, so be forewarned, buying this is a definite crap shoot and the odds are against you! Don't believe reviews that say it will run on Windows 10, tried it on multiple computers with no success. I love RTC, but at this point, it looks like we're simply out of luck.

Great game
Love the game. Cons shipping fees for an online download. My fault for assuming it was a CD and case

Great game, don't buy if on Windows 7
Amazingly addicting game, there's no doubt about that. An absolute classic that has stood the test of time. Well, at least game play has. Do not purchase this game if you are running Windows 7, it simply will not work. It's disappointing that they have not re-released a much newer version within the last year or two, I'm sure it would be cheap considering minimal re-programming would be required. But I digress... The game is great, and if you're OS is lower than Windows 7, you should be in good shape!

Fair warning: Buy the 3CD version, not the 2CD.
Now I love this game as much as the next person which is why I wanted to buy a physical copy instead of a downloadable version. When I first received it though, I was met with the sad demise that it was the two CD version and not the three, but I was willing to get over it. Upon opening the case I found no instruction manual or any paper inserts (which is one of the main reasons I like buying games physically), but the worst part of all was the fact that the first disc didn't work at all. Now at first I thought it was a compatibility issue, so I ran it in the Windows 95 compatibility mode and it still didn't work. I eventually gave up on getting it to work, until recently. I decided to try and get it running for me and anybody else who was stuck with this problem, so I made a Virtual Box for Windows 95, 98, and XP and the first disc didn't work (the one displayed in the picture is Windows 95 and Windows 10), but the second disc worked perfectly in Windows 95 and Windows 10 which brought me to this conclusion: do not buy the 2CD version unless you already have the basic version of RollerCoaster Tycoon (or just don't buy it at all).

Roller Coaster Tycoon Gold Edition
It has all 3 original classics for the computer on 2 discs: (1) Roller Coaster Tycoon and (2) Loopy Landscapes (consisting of Loopy Landscapes and Corkscrew Follies). It's an oldie, but a goodie. I recommend this game for children as I remember playing it when I was younger and loved it and then I purchased recently and still love it (and so do my kids). I still recommend learning and studying Chess as the best way for developing a child's (or anyone for that matter) mind, but if your looking for a video game that promotes creativity, then this is not too bad. Plus it is something they can do (but does not have to be) by themselves. It's better than both Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 and 3, though 3 is not too bad if you are looking for an update on the original classic.
