Best Map Book Yet!!
I received a copy of this map book for my birthday from my husband. We love to travel also like to take day trips. This map book has the most detailed maps and area maps yet. From what I understand you can purchase one just like it for whatever state you are in. It is a large book, very detailed, even has dirt and county roads. We used it multiple times last summer and found many roads, beautiful countryside and sites off the beaten paths. I just purchased one for my nephew for Christmas too!

I was little disappointed in the amount of "detail"
I was little disappointed in the amount of "detail". I have an older 1999 edition which I find give more detail. What they did in this 2011 edition is fatten up all the named roads, but what that has done is "muddled" up all the print space, making it harder to read. Just my opinion. I was hoping for a newer edition, but 2011 is the last revision. I also bought the Alaska issue too.

Very Detailed Map
I bought this for a cross-state trip with my 13YO son in our 1979 MGB. He was the navigator. About two hours into the trip he missed a turn, but then we passed a lake. He saw the lake on the map and concluded we were off course. This map has great detail and we take it whenever we go on an outing. In this day of Google Map directions and GPS, having a map like this to refer to is a pleasant -- and useful -- alternative

Decent maps but details can be off.
What can I say? I've used a dozen or so different DeLorme state gazetteers to navigate my way through some beautiful backroads throughout the United States. These newer versions lack historic notations of the gazetteers of yore but these maps usually provide greater rural detail then other paper maps. I've gifted many of DeLorme gazetteers for various states to friends and family who report enthusiastic usage. Ironically, after navigating my way home from all over, it is this edition of the Ohio gazetteer that I find most frustrating. I know my own neighborhood fairly well. As an angler, I notice all the bodies of water depicted in my home page (2015 Ohio Gazetteer, page 26) i.e. streams, rivers, and ponds, are off register on the map to the roads by about a half a mile. The result: roads bridge rivers on these pages where the two never meet. Roads terminate without reason, rivers twist into highways, etc. Orienting is disorienting at that level. If finding specific waters is part of your purpose for purchasing a more detailed map, this version needs work. Although much is accurate, other points of interest are askew. Campgrounds are misplaced and airfields are missing. If you are looking for the security of trusted detail, this map can be unsettling. This over-scrutinized review of my own turf throws some doubt on the accuracy of all DeLorme maps. Hopefully, revisions are pending. That said, the gist of back roading is there along with the vestiges of pre-interstate automobile travel - and I’ve always made it home.

Great atlas.
This is my 4th Atlas and Gazetteer. Great product for travelling back roads. Would like to see it offered with a spiral binding like a Rand McNally atlas.

Sometimes you just can't beat paper maps, and this has all the details
We've used Gazetteer maps for decades. When you need detailed maps for an area, including all the little podunk back roads, you just can't beat these. "Well, I use my GPS!", I hear someone saying. Yes, I use a GPS in the form of my Android phone. It's a great little device, but sometimes I lose a signal and -- crud! -- the phone reboots for some reason or the focus is lost on my navigation. Then the phone tries to access its data connection to no avail. It's good to have a backup plan. Just sayin'. This atlas is a must-have in your car. Pick your state and be prepared!

A Must Have if you Travel by Car
Some people, OK many people, depend on just their GPS to navigate but I still depend on paper maps for backup. I can also see what possibly interesting locations we might be close to that no GPS ever shows. I have these gazetteer for many of the state's we travel in. My wife uses them to help locate old cemeteries for her ancestry searches

... book that did not have the maps that look like a usual colored map
I expected a book that did not have the maps that look like a usual colored map. I had a map book of Ohio before and the pages were white with the roads marked and it was easier for me to find a route. But I appreciate the larger pages and ease of finding a route.
