The Pagan Book of Days: A Guide to the Festivals, Traditions, and Sacred Days of the Year

Not what I expected
I was looking for a book that listed the main days and the history of those days and the ways that they are celebrated. This book covered all of the pagan days, but with minimum detail. I was hoping to understand a little more about paganism, it's origins, and specific important days and how to celebrate them. Perhaps with my minimal knowledge of pagan this book has just confused me and I needed more of a beginners guide.

Useful initial source
Bought this book 10 years ago and still use it when looking for a theme. The info. is terse, but a useful starting point. Some charts in the Appendix were 2001-2008, but most of the book is still relevant.

good for atheists too
It is worth pointing out that this book is exceptionally good as a reference guide, regardless if one is pagan or not. I am an atheist, but was always interested in the pagan calendar, which is still a part of our more traditional calendar. The content is very impressive and is well worth a look if you are interested in knowing about such a gloriously natural religion.

Really enlightening book.
Enjoyed this book very much and it has made me want to find out more about the various celebrations. I will look at the author Nigel Pennick's other books.

An Excellent Guide to the Pagan Calendar
This little book is a fabulous guide to the Pagan Wheel. It brings together the important days of many different Pagan traditions, alongside a few somewhat obscure historical days. It's full of facts and is fun to read. It's a good starting place for those who are new to Paganism, and also for those who wish to learn more about other traditions.

Good
I found this introduction to Paganism very useful and the explanation of the festivals and traditions interesting and enlightening. The book of days part is less interesting for me as it goes into ancient stuff which I cannot relate to.
