I chose this short-wave heater to heat me, working at a bench in my garage. This it does very well.The heat is instant, so I do not have to wait for the whole area to heat up before I start work.You will need to connect a length of heat resistant cable to the terminal box so a modicum of electrical savvy is required but no problem for the average DIY'er.I cannot comment on it's outdoor effectiveness but I would guess that you would need a couple of them to heat your average four seater table area.

Check the internal wiring is secure before you use. I brought 2 of these and both had wiring that was not secured. One, the earth was not connected and the other, the live and earth was not connected. The wires were in the slots, but not secured.

Returned. This says waterproof but glass has been removed and bulb exchanged for heat lamp. We deemed it unsafe. Would not attempt to install even. After very long drawn out process finally were given instructions for return and repaid after prompting.

This heater is rated at 900 watts, therefore it does not have the power of many fan heaters. Nevertheless, we found it useful in the area where we installed it. Remember it has limitations.
