Perfect for our important documents
We were previously using a regular binder with sheet protectors as a way to store and organize some of our important documents. We were now able to upgrade to this and it feels much sturdier and more secure as a result. The binder feature itself seems pretty standard - 3 ring hole type bind that you can pull apart and snap shut. We moved over the contents of the old binder with sheet protectors and all and they fit perfectly within the zippered enclosure. Being able to zip this shut is so much nicer as it guarantees nothing is going to slip out or fall out accidentally. It also adds the benefit of keeping dust out.I haven't tested the claims of water and fire resistance - and I honestly hope I don't have to! I'll the company's claims on that - but again so far it feels study, high quality, and I'm happy with the new organization I'm able to have for our family documents.

An overpriced binder with limited usefulness (not fireproof or waterproof)
The binder is obviously not waterproof. The two zippers come together with a gap. The binder lacks a way to protect what is kept inside securely (no locks). Water seeps everywhere. Making a binder waterproof and fireproof would require considerably better materials and construction. While this binder is sturdy, it is false advertising to say that your documents will be protected. I wasnβt about to test the binder with a match, as it is obviously not fireproof. Also, I put sheet protectors and plastic tabs in the binder. They would melt and ruin my documents in a fire. Although the outside material may be fire-resistant, the inside documents would be destroyed very quickly in an actual structure fire. The heat from a real fire would far exceed the ignition point of the paper inside, and the outside cover would not protect it.This binder doesnβt work as a fireproof and waterproof protector of important documents, but it is a sturdy way to organize them. Once organized, these documents can be put in a fire-safe or safety deposit box, which is what I did with my documents. Of course, you can purchase a plain 3-ring binder and do the same thing for considerably less. This is a case of a good idea that was poorly executed. I cannot recommend this product.

Rings weak- Zippers Get Stuck
I like the product however, the rings are too weak. The zippers get stuck in the open position so I have to send this back.

Seems good but I hope I never have to test it
I have nothing else that I can say will keep my documents safe in, so I feel a little better putting them in this and at least it is better than not using anything that claims to be fire resistant. I do worry about it being waterproof, but I can work around that by doubling up on that with another waterproof bag inside this binder. The real reason I got this was to give my Bf and I one single place where we both will agree our important papers need to be put since his are in his backpack and mine are in a folder separately. If something was to happen, we would split up trying to retrieve and find those things instead of working together with our efforts being efficiently productive.

A bit overpriced, but it's nice
I ordered this binder because I do actually have a binder where I keep all of our important documents. I keep it in a spot where it would be easy to grab if there were ever a fire in my house. I ordered this so that I could switch everything over to this binder. While it IS a nice binder I do have my doubts about it being as fireproof as they claim. The zipper does not seem like it would survive against fire OR water. It might save our documents a little more than the plastic binder everything is currently in.
