Velvet Revolver was an American hard rock supergroup consisting of former Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum, alongside Dave Kushner formerly of punk band Wasted Youth and vocalist Scott Weiland formerly of Stone Temple Pilots(who left the band in 2008). Some described the band as a mere combination of Stone Temple Pilots and Guns n' Roses, criticizing them for their disconnection between Scott Weiland and the rest of the band. They had great success, and in 2005 they won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance with "Slither".
